Yes, pretty simple thing here. Disobey a police order to move, you get arrested. Standing there in a recalcitrant position after repeatedly been told to move will require something else to get their attention to move, especially when a situation is already tense to begin with.

 WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?! I have repeatly said that Hannah did NOTHING!!!! Besides that doesn't even excuse the police brutality at ALL. if this had been a "just arrest" Nancy would NEVER even have gotten SO pissed that she was planning to head down to NYC that very night from VT. Do you think police brutality is OK?!?!?!

I'm going to go ahead and answer this for him.

Yes.

Who is Hannah?

The girl in my link. The one getting her hair YANKED by the NYPD. She is my dear friend. I did send a link to this to Mama Nancy, and perhaps you can get the news direct from her instead of Faux News.

Yes.

I am sure that is the answer that the entire OWS movement has been fishing for.

That is why they purposefully antagnize the police and disobey lawful orders.

What involves police brutality? Your version may not be the same as mine in some instances.

do you realize that people who purposely antagonized police represents a very tiny percentage of entire OWS around the world? Do you realize that several police officers have been either suspended or placed under administrative leave for unlawful orders, excessive force, false arrest, etc.?

whether or not if she was there after being ordered to leave is of no importance. her charge will be dropped without doubt. why? see post #2153.

She did have to spend the night in jail, but I don't think she got permanently charged.

all charges are permanent if convicted but I believe her charge will be dropped. She'll have her day in court in couple months.

from DD's link
Two days earlier, just after the raid on Zuccotti, retired New York Supreme Court Judge Karen Smith had a similar experience when says she was pushed up against the wall by a police officer while trying to help woman he was allegedly beating.

“I was there to take down the names of people who were arrested,” Smith told Democracy Now!. She says she witnessed an African-American woman, who claimed her daughter was inside the Park, being thrown to the ground by a cop after she started crying.

“I walk over, and I say, ‘Look, cuff her if she’s done something, but you don’t need to do that’.” The officer then allegedly threatened Smith with arrest, despite her status as a legal observer being printed on her hat. “He said, ‘You want to get arrested?’ And he pushed me up against the wall.”

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hannah was PEACEFULLY PROTESTING!!!! I do think she got cuffed very tightly (her sister's status abt her said her hands were turning purple) and she also got hit.....and the " I'm out!" text she sent to her mom said that she had been beaten (not badly, and not Rodney Kinged) But still..........if that's not brutality, what is?!?!?!
And trust me....Hannah is a very very sweet woman. Not one of those "cops are pigs" types. She is a warrior, but a mental warrior!

not sure why you're using this line one too many times :dunno2:

That's not the case in here. It was an unlawful order to begin with.

yes and it's not illegal nor wrong.

I disagree.

I disagree.

that's fine but I ask you this - if it was lawful and if it was justified, then why was there a need for Oakland PD to investigate this matter?

Standard procedure to verify their crowd control policy was followed.
