Debunking conspiracy theorists' paranoid fantasies about Sept. 11

Astute observers of history are aware that for every notable event there will usually be at least one ,often several wild conspiracy theories which spring up around it. "The CIA killed Hendrix" " The Pope had John Lennon murdered ", "Hitler was half Werewolf", "Space aliens replaced Nixon with a clone" etc,etc. The bigger the event, the more ridiculous and more numerous are the fanciful rantings which circulate in relation to it. So its hardly surprising that the events of Sept 11 2001 have spawned their fair share of these ludicrous fairy tales. And as always, there is - sadly - a small but gullible percentage of the population eager to lap up these tall tales, regardless of facts or rational analysis.
One of the wilder stories circulating about Sept 11, and one that has attracted something of a cult following amongst conspiracy buffs is that it was carried out by 19 fanatical Arab hijackers, masterminded by an evil genius named Osama bin Laden, with no apparent motivation other than that they "hate our freedoms."

Never a group of people to be bothered by facts, the perpetrators of this cartoon fantasy have constructed an elaborately woven web of delusions and unsubstantiated hearsay in order to promote this garbage across the internet and the media to the extent that a number of otherwise rational people have actually fallen under its spell.

Normally I don't even bother debunking this kind of junk, but the effect that this paranoid myth is beginning to have requires a little rational analysis, in order to consign it to the same rubbish bin as all such silly conspiracy theories. .......................

Unfortunlately I has to agree that it's paranoid myth.
I provided Debunking links in other threads and want to show everyone what they are... They "prove" people's suggestion/questions wrong.... I find debunking theories nonsense and illogical.

A more graphic testimony to this perception was provided on the film made by the Naudet brothers. In a clip from that film, one can watch two firemen describing their experiences to other firemen.

Fireman 1: “We made it outside, we made it about a block . . . .”

Fireman 2: “We made it at least two blocks and we started running.” He makes explosive sounds and then uses a chopping hand motion to emphasize his next point: “Floor by floor it started popping out . . . .”

Fireman 1: “It was as if they had detonated--as if they were planning to take down a building, boom boom boom boom boom . . . .”

Fireman 2: “All the way down. I was watching it and running. And then you just saw this cloud of shit chasing you down.”

I am often sheepish to admit, but I do believe the government had a role in the 9/11 attacks. For you open-minded hearing viewers, I'd encourage you to watch the documentary "Loose Change." You can view it here. There are several other versions with foreign subtitles available on YouTube. If I find a version with English subtitles, I will post it.

Yes, it took me months to find the truth... We (alot of Europeans) beleive the government do something with 9/11 due political purposal... We learn thru medias, TV, etc.

Yeah, you're not only the one.. so am I believe related gov't did sumth'n purposed! I figured that gov't have been conspiracy cover up the different stories... which other showing has full blown truth about 9/11 what happend!
 
Yet no one gives a good reason for a "conspiracy".

Every crime must have a motive. Conspiracy is a crime. If the acts of 9/11 were each and all part of a conspiracy, what was the motive? If WTC7 was blown up instead of burned down, what was the motive? How did that act benefit anyone?

The conspiracy theory makes no sense.

Some people say that Bush and his friends planned this very complicated chain of events that required the involvement hundreds, maybe thousands, of people to cooperate in secrecy. What's wrong with that view?
* The same people who accuse Bush of conspiracy, are the same people who accuse Bush of being the stupidest person on the planet. If Bush is that stupid, how could he plot this? Either he is an evil genius or a blithering idiot (according to them). Which is it?

* The Bush administration is routinely one of the most "leaky" when it comes to confidential information. Yet, somehow, the biggest conspiracy in history is carried out without one leak occuring. Huh?

* Some accusers say that Bush planned the 9/11 attack in order to increase and secure his presidential powers. Yet, Bush has ended up with the lowest popularity polls, and contention from not just the opposing party and terrorist countries, but also from his own party and our so-called allies. If that was the motive, it sure backfired.

* Who benefits most from the conspiracy theory?
1. Democrat politicians
2. terrorists
3. authors and paid TV spokesmen supporting the theory
4. web bloggers' egos

So I ask again, what was the logical motive for this "conspiracy"?

Go easy on SxyPorkie because her sister was at the Pentagon when the plane crashed into it. Didn't you see on the other thread about her sister? Cloggy keeps asking the same questions over and over. He made 3 threads about 9/11. Isn't that too much? Not everyone are into conspiracy theories.

Since you seem to oblivious to the obvious answer, it affords the masterminds (whether it be Bush or not) the opportunity to push their "anti-Terror" agenda.

You have to remember my sister was at Pentagon when plane crashed into.. she got hurt real bad....
