Oh by the way, sorry for going off topic... typical of me..
They still think I am faking it. They can plainly see that I can't hear, but it doesn't seem to faze them at all. I have had all kinds of things done to prove that I am stone total deaf, such as, banging drums behind me, or any number of things that could make a massive amount of noise that a hearing person would find annoying. I have also had the proof that I have no ear drums and cochlea in hand and they think it's a forgery. They only way they believe it, is if they contact the agency that provided the proof themselves. I have given up trying to prove it to satisfy others.
Son is now identifying himself as being deaf as opposed to hoh. He got a new audio gram done and his hearing has slipped again. He is now more severe/profound than moderate/severe. HE has decided to learn more ASL with me now because of it. Daughter had hers tested again as well. Her's is still identical to what it was when she was 5, 9 and 12.
Then he is still young enough to go to the FSDB, as you regret you didn't, so he can assimilate and make a better life for himself.
He's 16 already?! Geez time flies. The last I knew he was only 13/14.
Amazing how kids do indeed get two years older in the space of two years, while we adults stay exactly the same age!! ;-)
I've been 39 for a long, long time. ;-)
I am 30 with 15 years experience. :P
Me too. A much better version than I was at 20.
