Ok, right now, let's look at the demographics of readers on this thread - when we talk about growing up mainstreamed - are you automatically thinking we're talking about being mainstreamed in Chad or Cambodia? And if we're talking about blacks being a minority group, are you thinking about Ethiopia?

One can use commonsense to derive that generally speaking, we would be talking about USA and also Europe such as is the case here on this thread when we speak of examples like education or interpreting services for the deaf.

Based on the above definitions...

Stereotyping hearies as stupid and obnoxious is something that can be done...

Choosing to not date a hearie or heir a hearie or breed with a hearie is based on that deaf's stereotype of hearies... (most people use "discrimination" for this but we are choosing not to as it is an incomplete use of the word.)

actually oppressing (all hearies) or causing (mass) discrimination to hearies (meaning loss of opportunity) or changing the culture so that (social and media) prejudice exist against (all) hearies is not possible currently.

So in the end there is 'reverse-stereotyping' which is foolish as any stereotype is just that a stereotype - not 'reverse' -

Agreed, in point. However, stereotyping is stereotyping. There is no reverse to it.

And stereotyping does not lead to oppression unless one is a member of the dominant culture. So stereotyping does not have the same impact on the dominant group as it does on the non-dominant group.

Why would these countries need to be ruled by whites? I can cite the Opium war in the Victorian Era as an example for starters. Hong Kong is a reminder of white rule.

If I'm not mistaken, Queen Victoria became the Empress of India in 1857. I had forgotten about Victoria for a sec there. India is in Asia, no?

The USA aligning with South Korea - To make sure North Korea is "in control."

The starvation in Somalia. The white people can just up and leave.

White men "taking care of Libya".

The UN is composed of mostly white men.

And it goes on.

Has nothing to do with rulers.
 
Okay. Enough with the other countries.

Now back to the deaf being able to oppress the hearing being not possible.
