Cop Rookie shot a naked black man

There are cases where there was serious police misconduct. I agree and police officers should answer the 911 calls everytime but please remember the police are not required to protect you. That is where you as a private citizen come in to buy a gun for self defense purposes and if you can't own a gun then have a weapon ready to defend yourself.
 :wtf: Who do you think you are to say this?? Of course the police are required to protect us and that is part of their job!!

I forgot to add something here, not everyone likes to own a gun, I happen to be one of them, I wouldn't even touch a gun or own one not ever, so we have polices here in order to protect us from any harm, yet you're saying we have to protect ourseleves without the cops protecting us?

Then I want my taxes money back!

Yes they are required to go to the 911 calls but they are not required to protect you.

Taylor will be in a better position to explain this much better than I will be able to explain this. I know the police are required to respond to 911 calls but they are not required to protect you.

There was a case where it went to the Supreme Court and the ruling was that the police are required to go to 911 calls but are not required to protect you.

I believe that most of the Police Departments are CROOKED. Why should American citizens pay their taxes if, the policemen are crooked ? President Bush knew about how the system works. He wants the Military Police by lettin' the Police Departments crooked so that one day we won't be havin' the Police Departments anymore because, of what they did to American citizens that the American citizens could file suit against them for wrongfully death or abuse. But, the Military Police is more far worser than the Police Departments.... they are very brutual and could intidimate the American citizens.

We are livin' in this " Lawlessness " United States of America.....

Under the law, the police are support to protect and serve people.... :smash:

Mookie, Not so fast.....

State and city governments — rather than the Federal authorities — are responsible for local law enforcement. So, only occasionally have Federal Courts ruled on the matter of police protection. However, in 1856 the U.S. Supreme Court declared that local law enforcement had no duty to protect a particular person, but only a general duty to enforce the laws. [South v. Maryland, 59 U.S. (How.) 396, 15 L.Ed., 433 (856)]. The Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution gives you no right to police protection. In 1982, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit, held that:.. there is no Constitutional right to be protected by the state against being murdered by criminals or madmen. It is monstrous if the state fails to protect its residents against such predators but it does not violate the due process clause of the Fourteenth Amendment or, we suppose, any other provision of the Constitution. The Constitution is a charter of negative liberties: it tells the state to let the people alone; it does not require the federal government or the state to provide services, even so elementary a service as maintaining law and order.” [Bowers v. DeVito, U.S. Court of Appeals, 7th Circuit, 686F.2d 616 (1982). See also Reiff v. City of Philadelphia, 471 F.Supp. 1262 (E.D.Pa. 1979)]. — Excerpted from Dial 911 and Die

Maybe cops went out of their zones for their chatty chatty with enforced pals in the donut shop...

Heath, I am also one of them who don't own a gun and I don't want to! Police are supposed to protect us when we call them for help.

because first of all, the black boy was smoking dope and shooting a gun threatening people on 911 then when the police showed up he took off his clohtes to prevent identification running naked and try to make it home or something like that and even if he was unarmed, that does not always mean he is unarmed.
[/B]

He have to die because he smoked dope and running naked? He did not threaten police with weapon, isn´t he?

I consider police as coward and lazy because he CAN´T run after him or save himself being "hurt" by black guy when he KNEW black guy don´t have any weapons to back police... Simple shot 5 times... *shake the head disgusting*

No offense please, Taylor.

True there are some police who are not doing their job well but we all do need to remember that not all police are cowards and lazy. There are several good cops out there and they are our heroes.

That proves to me that he wasn't even close enough to the police that made the police feel threaten by him....

Exactly

The way I see it is that the police wanted to get the man, but he kept running away from the police and he could have shot the unarmed man many time until he was finally down on the ground...I don't believe a second that the police was fearing for his own life....I think it was more of an excuse to cover up his own action....

It proves that police is coward and fear for his own life... *shake the head*

It could be one of your child, and are you going to sit here and nods by agreeing that the police did the right thing?....

Exactly, what I thought so... *goose bumbs*

Afterall, if anyone could lie, a police can lie too....

That´s what I created my thread at months ago...
Heath, I would suggest you to read my thread.

If the investigation shows that the police officer was wrong and I check myself in the police officer's boots to see what happened then if it does not make sense then something is up? then I would sue the police officer and have the courts pay for my son's funeral expenses and get millions of dollars but I would not try to get the police dept. to be broke and running in the red with their finanical budget either.

They would hide the investigation if they find out that police did wrong and cover everything for him or her... You can´t do anything against police without get the proof.

You said the same what some AD members said at other threads. I can´t beleive that police are not required to protect you... I googled to find out either you are right or not. I am speechless and have to give you right about no police protection requirement... :cold:

You Have NO Right to Police Protection !

You have no right to expect the police to protect you from crime. The police don’t even have to come when you call.
Depending solely on police emergency response means relying on the telephone as the only defensive tool. Too often, citizens in trouble dial 911 . . . and die.

Americans increasingly believe, however, that all they need for protection is a telephone. Dial 911 and the police, fire, and ambulance will come straight to the rescue.

Incredible as it may seem, the courts have ruled that the police are not obligated to even respond to your calls for help, even in life threatening situations!

Police do very little to prevent violent crime. They investigate crime after the fact.

To be fair to our men in blue, most officers really do want to save lives and stop dangerous situations before people get hurt. But the key point to remember is that they are under no legal obligation to do so.

You have no recourse if the police fail to respond or fail to protect you from injury!

Read further "Case Histories" in this link... I can´t beleive after read case histories - people have to die because the police are not there to protect them when they call for the help... :pissed:
