You can blame Obama for not doing enough to fix things (primarily because the people who caused this mess in the first place under the Bush admin are still in their positions of influence under Obama, which is truly sickening to me and one reason I hate his guts now), but don't blame Obama FOR what happened.

Exactly the kind point I was making. All kinds of uncertainty that small businesses have to face when they affect their bottom line. For some reason some people have this naivete' idea that having a business with a bunch of employees is really a simple thing to do and operate.

So, was Obama wrong to allow the doling of those waivers where some 1,500 companies got their waivers should have toughed it out like the rest of the businesses. If Obamacare supposedly won't hurt financially but makes it better why the waivers? Perhaps it would've been better for those 1,500 companies to tough it out like the rest of the businesses that are forced to do so?

Obama tries to fix his own Obamacare boondoggle when he realized these shortcomings and decided to grant waivers. Without the waivers companies wouldn't hire as much since they've been exempted until 2014 but for the rest of the companies without waivers they are pretty much at a disadvantage when it comes to hiring or maintaining their current roster of employees.

So, again, was Obama wrong to allow the doling of those waivers to some 1,500 companies when they should have toughed it out like the rest of the businesses who didn't get waivers? I'm asking you this question.

People who identify themselves as conservatives donate money to charity more often than people who identify themselves as liberals. They donate more money and a higher percentage of their incomes.

That still has nothing to do with what TCS posted, nor with my response. But I'll answer you anyway:

I don't know. I'd have to know under what circumstances those waivers were handed out. The bill provides for exceptions, obviously, and if those exceptions were done legally and within the confines of the bill, then it's not "wrong." But this is a moot question for me anyway.

I am against employer-provided healthcare. I am a firm believer of government-sponsored, universal single-payer healthcare. Healthcare ought never to have been turned into a for-profit industry.

Obamacare is some weird bastardization universal healthcare. I don't like it. At first I thought it was a step in the right direction, but at this point, I'm not even sure about that. I guess I'd feel differently if I had a major illness and no insurance? :dunno:

TXGolfer is correct - the two intellectuals you sourced from the wikipedia article you read regarding Thomas Sowell, are self described leftist liberals.


It is my opinion, that their political way of thinking made them feel they needed to quash a truthful African American Conservative. Possibly to continue the stranglehold the Democrats have on the African American voting population (90%). Thus, the reason they could not justify calling him a racist, they tried to discredit him entirely. Same thing happened to Herman Cain.

Too much of what is called "education" is little more than an expensive isolation from reality.
