'Company Policy: We are not hiring until Obama is gone'

I took an Abdullah with me on a Spring Break. He had never been in America and wanted to visit - I think he got bored.

Abdul recommended it.

P.S. No, we didn't feed him squirrel

The Abdullah I knew had a last name that if you added an "S" to it would have been a swear word.

oic...

btw - what did you tutor him on?

so Steinhauer.... since you're friend with this Abdul.... how do you think how would he feel about Looman especially his strong anti-Islamic sentimentalism?

He would probably feel the same way I feel about Islamic hatred of the Jews.

I do not hate Muslims, but from what I gather, if I am friends with an Israeli, I wouldn't be too popular.

Tinfoil hat much?

He may be who he says he is. But as far as you being who you say you are? That is open to skepticism. :cool2: Just no way, with what you present here, that some of your claims regarding who you are could have even the slightest ring of truth to them.:giggle: You keep saying you can prove it, but that proof never seems to come for some reason. I wonder why that is.

how did you gather that?

I have many Jewish friends and I have many Muslim friends. they get along just fine. heck - I frequent to Brooklyn area where Jewish community is next to Muslim community. no problem.

and you say you do not hate Muslims? hmm only as long as it's not POTUS, right? :giggle:

Now that's a very good question.

One of my best friends is Muslim. It has never been an issue with us, or with her other family members, either.

I also have many Jewish friends and many Muslim friends. They get along fine .... in public. Especially here in the United States.

When you sit down with someone from the UAE, or Saudi Arabia, or any other Middle Eastern country that is governed by Islamic Law, the tone is much different in regards to their view of Israel (and Israel's Allies).

In some unfortunate situations, the rhetoric is much like what you would anticipate to come from the KKK - it is downright hateful and nasty. It was always strange to me to see such a friendly, charming and likeable person suddenly start spewing that garbage. It was .... stunning.

Although I do not know this firsthand, I have been told by a number of Israeli deaf that there is a growing movement between Israelis and Palestinians to "screw" their own governments and just get along. Then of course, we are fed images from the MSM of rocket attacks, suicide bombers, ad infinitum.

The hatred is very real.

Anyways, I read a book a while back that was sort of related to all of this. It's an interesting read:

edit: I guess I should have said "play", not book.

Really? You have many Jewish and Muslim friends? How many Muslims are there in Georgia? How many Jews in Georgia? The population of either state wide would be minimal...yet you claim to have many as friends?

How many times have you sat down with someone from a Middle Eastern country and discussed their law and their politics? In what capacity did you do so, and from which Middle Eastern country did they hail?

And during which occasion did you have the opportunity to experience that? Are you suggesting that you have attended summit meetings?

I would suggest that you know very little first hand.

Yes, it is. We have witnessed you spewing it here, and we have witnessed your support of others who spew that hatred.

How about a synopsis, in your own words, of what the message of this play was? You had to go to Wikipedia to find the name of a "book", oops "play" you read just awhile back? Most people would not need Wiki...they would just give the title. Very odd that you had to look it up on Wiki. Did you read this play in the original German?

I live in the Southeast, too, and each time I'm in town I see Muslims, so I imagine there are even more around who aren't so easy to spot. They aren't that rare here. I see them in the stores, in the schools, at the hospital, on the street, etc. The demographics for Georgia are probably similar to South Carolina. If one lives in a large city or near a university, the odds are even higher that one will have Muslims in the community.

The Jewish population in SC is substantial. Jews have lived in SC since the 1600's, Charleston has had a synagogue since 1750, and many Southern Jews were patriots in the Revolution, and held prominent government positions. They are still an important population in our area. It wouldn't be unreasonable to think that Georgia also has a significant Jewish population.

in general, Jewish and Muslim people being visible does not preclude them from being affected by people's attitudes.

it is sad to see hatred spewed by anyone

It won't happen for the same reason balancing the budget is really bad for the world economy. I probably should not have said that because I don't have the time or energy to defend this statement. (Oh crap, did I just announce open season on the Cheetah?)

Nah, no reason to attack. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

All right... since you dismissed what you called my "opinion" I finally found the report where this "opinion" came from. There is a link in the article to the original document as well. This was a fascinating read and was intended to be presented to President Clinton. This gives some of the thinking and thought processes that I believe are still relevant today. It raises some consequences of paying off the national debt that I doubt many politicians are aware of.

Muslim population for the entire state of Georgia is .3% of the total population. Jewish population is 1.7% statewide according to the latest census statistics. Georgia is not exactly what we could call a state made of diversity.:cool2:

Guess we aren't going to get any answers to the many questions that have been raised. Oh well. No one really expected answers anyway. Par for the course.
