to be honest, I think of many things when I think of Georgia. Diverse is not one.

There are many places and times when I am very, VERY aware of being a Jew and what that means. All of it. Georgia would be one of those places.

I have many Jewish friends and I have many Muslim friends. they get along just fine. heck - I frequent to Brooklyn area where Jewish community is next to Muslim community. no problem.

Jews and Muslims definitely can get along - in fact, the Jewish community on the island of Djerba, Tunsia is believed to be one of the lost tribes of Israel.

During WW2 - the only country that never turned in a single Jew was Albania, a pre-dominantly Muslim country.
 
Took me a while to find info but there's an estimate of 40 Muslims in Lychburg Va. No, this isn't a misprint. :shock: I thought we had more than that.

But that wasn't the question. No one said that it was a "state made of diversity."

Also, that's a statewide demographic. As I posted earlier, if one lives in a cosmopolitan or university area, one is more likely to interact with other cultures.

they have had coexisted together with Christians, Catholic, etc peacefully during Islamic Empire's Golden Era until the Crusaders massacred them all.

they surely can coexist once again as long as media and government stop being xenophobic and/or ignorant.

Not necessarily. Few people move to the rural, small-town areas of the Southeast because there are no job opportunities or colleges there. It doesn't have to do with race or religion. No one is moving into those areas except where there's suburban sprawl.

BTW, a good bit of the rural Southeast is black, not white.

It is all about opposites here. Thing for me; I don't have such anger and dislike for either side. I am simply dismayed at the anger and dislike y'all show each other. How are we ever going to get along with all the name calling and mocking? Are Conservatives that cheap? Are Liberals that worthless?
