NUmerous research says deaf children cannot hear? Strange..... I have read so many about deaf children can hear... and listen, etc....
But you disagree... ... so - a child with CI cannot hear.....

Pieter, quit twisting your words around. Flip is talking about the life experiences, not whether he can hear or not. Besides you know quite well that a deaf child can't hear without CI/hearing aids. I am tired of you playing games with us.

No, let's not be "general", let's be specific.

Specifically, tell me, who raised a profoundly deaf child who is oral and a graduate of mainstream schools, exactly how I am being "disrespectful" and exactly to whom I am being "disrespectful".

Since you are a noted authority who can speak on behalf of ALL deaf individuals or according to Flip, millions of deaf individuals, it should be so simple for you to provide specific examples of the "disrespect".

I await your learned and fact filled response.

You are making me a noted authority????? Actually, you consider yourself(and the doctor who suggested CI) a noted authority on deafness. It is like a knee-jerk reaction to your child's deafness. Did you listened to the deaf people's stories about their oral education? If you did listened to the deaf people and yet you discounted their experiences. I think you didn't use sign language so you discounted the possiblity that your child's CI could break down or the possiblity of infection, the kind where the doctors have to remove CI. You are playing with 'fire' here.

And your post to me here, you are also being disrespectful toward me. I can read between the lines. I am not the only one in this AD who is speaking of the deaf experience.
