Now I want mincemeat pie. No, I want porkpies and I'm not talking about hats!

OMG...drphil has had a subconscious influence on your thinking!

Borsellino, or fedora would be my choices in this department.

Although a good chicken pot pie would be nice...

I prefer wide brimmed hats myself.. I like my chicken pot pie with thyme, onions, celery and carrots and a buttermilk crust.

I'm partial to a homburg, but it takes a unique person to carry it well. Sausage pie can be particularly delicious, but I really enjoy a Vidalia onion pie.

I remember my father had a hat like that. I believe he bought it in 1968 in the autumn.

I don't really like cooked onions unless they are onion rings. Sonic drive in onion rings have an unfortunate taste of vanilla in the batter. As of July 2011.

Sometimes I will wear safari hats. Sausage pies will cause refluex for me but I've been meaning to make Vidalia onion pies one day. I love carmelized Vdalia onions!

I bought a bright orange fleece hat with earflaps for the coming winter. My coat is orange and steel gray.
I bought it in June with a coupon at a price of $13.91. The coat that is.

my husband loves those "blooming onion" fried things

and he has a wide-brimmed sun-hat for when he's outside

one could eat a wide variety of pies outside while wearing many types of hats.....

I am now going to totally derail this thread and it's your fault! :)

I just remembered - I can never wear winter hats because they make my hearing aids feedback like crazy. have always wondered if that's the same for others.

I am bothered by the possiblility of flies if eating outside. :hmm:

I believe it was 1997 when I last went on a picnic and all the hats in the world could not induce me to go again.

Homburgs were quite popular in the 60's and the 60's. My husband had one that he purchased in KY in 1984 to wear with his riding suit.

Onion pie is similar to a quiche. I ate at Sonic before I relocated back to Ohio in 1994. I have now been without Sonic completely for 17 years.

Shoo fly pie is suggested for eating outside in a wide brimmed hat.

Yes! I have always worn hoods, except for one Domo hat. Then last year, LDNanna made me a knit hat, and I loved it. The Naida has very little problem with feedback. It's the new technology.

I learned about this in the winter of 2010.

Perhaps you would enjoy a picnic on a sun porch. Hats are optional, but pie is required.

flies outside would be bothersome, true.

I have been without a pasty for 17 years

but someone check my math.

huh! I have one digital and one analog. the digital is not really problematic but the analog is so I usually turn it off before wearing any hats. Makes me feel a bit off-balanced but hey.

My son has always been fond of toboggan hats and I make him a new one each year for Christmas. I discovered in 1990 that he just turns his HAs off when he has his hat on.

I read the whole thing; even I can't do the cliff notes on this one. It's too all over the place!

Maybe one of MIT's conversation mapping/visualization tools could get you through this one. Looks like it's cycled through a few different topics, with a similar pattern in each case: enforcement of groupthink upon an initially diverse range of responses. Although now, it seems to be moving through a series of unexpectedly overt little social control exercises in collective behavior. Before long, we'll have half of AD eagerly standing on one leg.
