CI--Deaf or Hearing?

:lol: i know. I do not agree how she put words in front of us and its her attitude, just like on tv show, data can turn off the emotions and keep going on.

If that is definition of a militant (militant - definition of militant by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia. -wishing to take, or taking, strong or violent action)then I can see how the hearing people are "hearing militant". The hearing people have punished the deaf kids for signing back in old days. Nowadays, they pushed CI on deaf babies. Cutting the baby's head open is violence to me. Some even died from meningitis resulted from CI. Yes, there are hearing militants who think that we have to be hearing at all costs - even it costs lives. I am tired of hearing people throwing negative terms about Deaf. It seems that the hearing people are trying to take away the Deaf's rights and give it to parents of deaf kids which is about 90% hearing. They pushed CI on the parents. In turn, Deaf schools closed and then the chance of getting a good education is very slim for the deaf kids of deaf parents. Nice of them to do that! (sarcastic)
 
A factual statement to the above: meningitis shots are given BEFORE a cochlear Implant operation. I received mine in Jun/07 to the operation of July 12, 2007.

This entire post was referring to a Select few- not the entire AD community. My fault that was not clear enough.

Thanks! That supports my belief that the deaf kids shouldn't be implanted until they are 18+. I just want the deaf people to have choices of their own, not their parents'.
