again, get over yourself. what claim? That I'm a Deaf kid's mother? And so, my credentials need to be checked? By that you mean where I work? Where I went to college? What degrees I have? Those things that you and pfh felt were so important to look into before deciding i could post here? What does any of that have to do with me having a Deaf child? Does everyone posting on this forum need to be academically vetted , and if so, by whom? What committee has to review our CVs and say that I have the right to share my child's experiences, to have discussions with others? Is there a publish or perish situation, too? Do I have to maintain a level of professional activity outside AD sufficient to maintain my tenure here on AD? And what right do you have to post this info, completely irrelevant to anything I've posted?
My work is not at all connected to my parenting of my Deaf child, and I've never, ever spoken on behalf of where I work, or suggested that some research I've done was in the service of supporting my decisions. If I said, hey, look, I'm a neurosurgeon at Y with 10 years experience in cochlear implant surgery, so take my word that X is the right approach, I could see it coming back to me in discussion, but I've never, ever referred to my work as a basis for credibility. For many reasons, but mostly because it doesn't have a thing to do with Deafness or my daughter, aside from supporting us financially.
