Casey Anthony found not guilty of her murder charge

So, there was also no evidence that she wasn't smothered or gassed.

The entire trial was televised. If there had been evidence of drowning, it would have been mentioned. There was none.

All they have is Casey's story about drowning. Casey, the pathological liar who told many stories about what happened to Caylee, was the only source of the drowning story. There were no collaborating witnesses, no supportive forensics, nothing.

That is just it. There is no evidence that she did, there is no evidence she didn't. So it can't be assumed that it is or isn't the cause of death any more than smothering or gassing could be.

Since there wasn't enough of her left for testing for drowning or any other cause of death, (I recall the defense bring up drowning as I was watching it while I was in hopsiptal), she couldn't be tested for smothering or gassing despite the fact there was considerable traces of coloform (I can't spell :P) in the trunk of the car.

You said it better than me. :)

Right. But they could not determine if there was chloroform in her tissues. So they cannot say for certain whether it was involved with her death.

Let me ask this. Was there any forensic proof that Caylee drown? Were there any witnesses that saw her enter the pool, or saw her in the pool, or saw her dead in the pool that day? Were there any witnesses to the aftermath of her drowning when her body was being taped and bagged? Were there any witnesses to the person or vehicle that was involved with dumping her body?

In other words, why should we believe that Caylee accidentally drown?

There were indications that Anthony's cellphone was in the exact area that Caylee's body was found.

Besides, who would duct tape a dead body's mouth and nose? :hmm:

There was no other communication from Anthony's cell phone until a call was made to Lazzaro's apartment at 5:57 p.m., records show.
Two hours later, Anthony and Lazzaro were captured on surveillance video at a Blockbuster, renting a movie that contains a scene of a rotting body in a car trunk, Pipitone said.

You would have to ask the person who duct taped her. People who are disposing of a body don't exactly sit down and reason these things out like someone who is playing armchair quarterback.

The fact that the cellphone was in the area of the body still does not prove that she murdered her.

Well...

She was found guilty on providing false information to law enforcement. Her sentencing for that is set for Thursday. I wonder what kind of time she will get.

I had believed up until very recently they would come back with a guilty verdict. But, today, I started thinking they would come back with not-guilty. I think just enough reasonable doubt was given.

Doesn't matter what I think.

Bad news she's getting released July 17th, because shes already served 3 years, and has been on good behavior.
Sad thing that girl will never get justice, but that mom will have to live with what she did.

Casey Anthony's fingerprints were on the duct tape :hmm:

The defense made it seem like it was "normal" for people to carry chloroform and duct tape with them everywhere they go.

In fact, there is zero evidence that she drowned.

Exactly. This is what reasonable doubt is all about. If you can't prove that something did or didn't happen, then all you have is speculation.

There is more evidence pointing towards smothering (duct tape) or chloroform (trace and internet search) than there is for drowning (no evidence), yet people keep mentioning the drowning scenario as though it were on a par with the murder scenario.

The only evidence was a dead body with a skull covered with duct tape that had a heart shaped sticker and Casey Anthony's fingerprints on the tape (according to Leonard Padilla).

That all changed when the defense got ahold of the files ..... :hmm:

Also, the smell of a dead body from Casey Anthony's trunk as well as DNA evidence from Caylee.

What the hell was a child ever doing inside the trunk of a car?

There is evidence that someone put duct tape on Caylee but since neither Cayee's or Casey's DNA were found on it, we can't find evidence that she did suffocate.
