I am very pleased to hear that Osama bin Laden was successfully captured and killed. He and his terrorist operatives killed thousands upon thousands of innocent men, women and children here in the United States and around the world. I am sure everyone worldwide is happy to know this face of evil is no longer alive and we can all sleep better at night knowing our world is now a little bit safer for our children.
I saw the news coverage last night while watching regular programming on CBS but I did not get to see the speech. I want our country to celebrate corporately not at the death of another human being, but at the notion that the figurehead of a terrorist group has been permanently eliminated. It is my wish that because of this, Al Qiaeda will be dismantled as well with all members of this terrorist group permanently detained and brought to justice or killed. Without Al Qiaeda, the Middle East might perhaps become more peaceful with less warlords forcing civilians into war and fewer young boys will be led to the false teachings of Al Qiaeda.
As President Barack Obama stated in his speech, our war is not against Islam. Our war is against those who terrorize the rest of the world with bombings, shootings, and other horrific terrorist acts that kill and wound thousands of innocent people each year.
I give many thanks to those who have put their lives on the line to see this mission through and those who did the work to ensure it's successful completion. Thank-you to our military for keeping their eye on the goal.
