Was your son in the car?
No, he was at home with me.Was your son in the car?
No, he was at home with me.
She was going to a class and driving a tad too fast on an exit ramp that drops from 60mph to 20mph.... and spun out, backwards down a hill and hit a few poles, curbs.... I guess it was a good wake up call for her because it did shake her up pretty good.
Sometime things are not worth fixing when the vehicle does not have much value in it.
I totally agree. We have a pick-n-pull close by here too, so my hubby or his friends often go there to look for a specific part. It works well when you're repairing a vehicle that still does have some value to it.
And this is fact, more and more people keep their cars much longer than they were in the past. Average now is 11.5 years I think. I have this Cherokee Sport for 11 years next month and have no plan to sell it or get rid of it. Have plan til everything falls apart, thats when I will have it head to junk yard and junk yard may not get much out of my Cherokee. Most of parts on my Cherokee is originals. I spent about $2K on maintenance in the last 11 years, that is how reliable it is and STILL running strong. I paid average of 10.6 cents each mile out of my Cherokee, can't beat that deal. Oh it does not include gasoline, oil changes and tire replacements. I think Cherokee has 5th set of tires already. All tires were bought from same place, so I always get free tire repairs, rotation, and so forth.
50 years ago, seeing car hits over 150K miles was very rare, today we have seen them hitting 300K already. Quality has improved considerable, but damn its so expensive.
Is $2K include 5th set of tires?
Oh now I see where you got it. Nope, $2k not include sets of 5 tires.
You maintain your car yourself? I've seen some customers who spend $100 or less for lightly maintenance especially in oil services with discount coupons. I don't like customers cuz they won't buy anything such as brake jobs, air filter etc...Cheap azzes..what cars they have is small cars like Asian. If customer bring coupon for oil service, I'll check their service history to see how much to spend on the repairs, if small repairs then I won't check any fluids or other things, just drain oil, change filter, refill oil period.
I forget to edit my post#73..... One female customer use coupons for oil services, just spend $60ish for 4 oil services in one year. What car she have is Toyota Prius... She never buy air filter or cabin air filter or tires that we recommend as maintaince preventive. Some of my techs or me will leave oil filter and just drain oil and refill without replace a new filter. If she come back again for oil service then we will replace a new oil filter. We check service history first to see if they are VIPs or cheap azzes... Hands down to VIPs....
If DOT would do that, about 95% of the vehicles on the road would be impounded today ! You wouldn't believe the cars on the road today....lolSwitch to Diesel tech.
No switch cabin air filter for long time and then inside car will smell nasty or too dirty when turned A/C or heat on.
99% of driver/customers can't said No to me whatever I recommend as maintenance, parts need to replace/repair, brake shoes minimum lining thickness is 1/4",even one light out. They don't want to get pull out and get ticket from DOT. They will lost their time for business travel and lost money from fined.
That's right DOT will give you the warning or ticket for one light out or and ticket for less than 1/4" brake shoes lining.
DOT should do same thing to all vehicles.
