Perhaps the difference is.... That her child will be able to hear.
What an audist statement!!
LOL, just kidding. It just felt appropriate ;-)

Yes. Those are the only issues that need to be addressed and everything will be peaches and cream after that.

Your sarcasm is indicative of an unwillingness to enter into an honest and prodictive discussion. Oh, well. That is why nothing ever changes for the deaf child.
? No. Not at all.
What's really odd is that it seems as if some people take that as an insult.
I didn't feel insulted at all. Your daughter will have feelings that you can never have and there is no way you will understand them. That is all I am saying.
Will and is are two separate words.
Triumph of the Will is a great Nazi propaganda piece. So?
The facts are this mother got her child a CI and us signing with him. What's the major malfunction?? Why are people giving her a hard time, and fighting over a moot point?? Most everyone is in agreement that signing is a crucial part of a deaf Childs experience. She is signing with him... What's the problem??
If you didnt want to argue, then why accuse some people of attacking Calum's mom and calling her audist?
If you say so...

There's a lot of truth to that.
And my son has had, and will always have, feelings I cannot understand from a first hand perspective. He is deaf, I am not. Oh, well. That just means it is my responsibility as a parent to make sure that he had access to those that could provide him with the kind of understanding I couldn't. Was it a threat to our relationship? Quite the contrary. It strengthened it.
What do you expect from parents who openly profess to be experts on these matters?
I commend you for not trying to steer him into your comfort zone. You have too much horse sense to attempt that.
You implied that the infant will become hearing without any of the psychological pitfalls faced by the deaf. Surely you jest!
I stated the infant will be able to hear. I never stated what you claim.
The child will be able to hear with CI.. and not hear with out it.
You adding and tacking other stuff I never stated.
Nice to have posters on this forum that add on to what you actually posted. This is how people get misinformed.
