AZ Congresswoman...12 others, shot

I was just responding to your request for a link to her nationally televised speech. You appeared to have some interest in watching it. *shrug**
I wanted to know the specific speech that you saw that you claimed it validated her connection to the killer.

Reba:
It is equally strange how some people attempt to connect the crazed killer with Palin, especially since he hasn't said anything.

jillio:
But she has, and on public T.V. That makes the connection more valid, as she seems to believe that it is valid enough to speak out in her own defense. But then, we are discussing irrational individuals, aren't we? LOL

I haven't seen anything on TV or the web that validates any connection between the two.

Just as a reminder of the chronology of events:

On the very day of the shootings:

That was several days before Palin made her statement. Her statement was in response to the one above, and others that were similar. She didn't come out of the blue with a statement.

On this thread, it was not I who brought up her name the first time.

Think: Olbermann ≠ Beck. From my seat in the middle, I can see the bias on both sides. Olbermann is paid to stir the pot, make controversial comments, and generally shout out the Liberal platform. Beck does the same thing for the Conservatives. Why should either of them be taken seriously? Do you take Beck seriously? I see that you say you do not. A lot of Conservatives do. I could find a few of his comments that are "out there" a bit.

BTW, noticed you skipped over the "she is out of the hospital" post to resume defending the Right. Priorities?

If she had any sense she would ignore it and go on with her life. Isn't her television career satisfying enough for her?

And, yes, the shooter did tie his thinking to these statements. Which just reinforces the point that someone who is delusion can take the kind of ranting that Palin, Beck, and Limbaugh engage in as very serious, or even as a direct order to them. Consequently, these people need to be aware of that and stop using language intended to incite. They just might get want they want....someone is incited.:cool2:

Apparently some do. I know I don't. I don't take political commentators seriously. At all.

Yet some people treat them as if they are politicians. Hmm.

And delusional people take it even farther, which is why we all have a responsibility not to play these games at the expense of a tradgedy like this occurring. They themselves need to take responsibility for the nature of their rhetoric...not come out playing the victim.

There were plenty of victims in this instance; Palin certainly wasn't one of them.

The people that take these "commentators" seriously are often the same people that complain about media bias. I find that alarming. What they are really saying is "Give me the news, and have it slanted my way."

You misunderstood. What I said was, "Palin obviously was seeing a connection as she went on t.v. to deny it." The point being, if there is no connection, there is no need to deny it. She made a bad choice, and opened herself up to even more speculation. She needs to get over herself.

Quite true.

That reminds me of someone...

I guess you overlooked my several posts regarding Giffords' recovery progress.

Also, I don't always get to post in perfect order because I get interrupted or have to leave off posting. I sure I'm not the only one who posts on the fly.

How would I know? Why would I even care?

That's a disgusting baseless accusation.

I felt her leaving the hospital was beyond amazing. The Palin debate is boring by contrast. Carry on.

That's a disgusting baseless accusation.

If you use language that is intended to incite, and you incite someone, you have accomplished your goal. Problem is, they can't control the way one is incited. That is why they need to be careful with that type of language. They wanted to incite, and it was accomplished. They just failed to play the tape all the way through when making the decision to use that form of communication.

It absolutely is. Nearly unheard of after a shot to the head at close range.

I have seen some amazing thing, but found this to be right up near the top. She was pronounced dead to the media, then not dead. Shot from inches away, in the head. And it was less than two weeks ago. Wow.

She is most definately a remarkable woman. Such strength and character. I am duly impressed.
