Aussie student in OK shot and killed "for fun"

that's why it's called gray area.
Shouldn't it just be black and white, not mixed?
To kill or Not to kill
Dead or Alive?
reguardless of age, they committed a serious crime.
These boys planned their fate

oh you want it to be black and white? then it's very simple - law's a law. they're teens... therefore should not be charged as adults.

simple enough eh? black and white, right?

The death penalty for juvenile was ok in 1929 but not anymore after US Supreme Court ruling made death penalty to under 18 as unconstitutional.

Are you saying that I feel sorry for thugs?
Didn't say anything about you, just a in general discussion of how people worldwide act. example

*Oh its just a little boy. He is 14, 15 whatever stands 6' tall and weighs 200 pounds, got mad at a guy, went home, got a weapon, goes back and kills the dude. Premeditated (spelling) Murder. These boys picked a guy, followed and killed, they planned it, same thing as the example. So what sets them apart? Age , No...they knew what they were doing. Their actions when caught, they knew, they didn't care except the young boy driving... a wannabe and now a chicken shit knowing he is in for some time, thought his age was gonna get him off the hook, not completely, but he was involved and knew what they were going to do and he followed suite, they all need executed.
* even if the example was an adult 18+

I don't support death penalty for juvenile. :ugh:

No not what I meant, why separate them from the crime by age? They are more than capitable to reason the whole ordeal out. They knew what they were doing, it wasn't an accident. They've already had run in with the law and shown they are worthless to society.

Then maybe it's time to rethink the so-called "legal adult age" mandate? I find it extremely difficult to view these murderers as underaged children. Especially the 17 year old. They knew what they were doing. They thoughtlessly and wilfully took an innocent man's life...as they said "...for the fun of it."

No compassion, no conscience, no remorse. They deserve to be put down like rabid animals. Period.

Another point in case:http://elitedaily.com/news/world/15yearold-killed-mother-sledgehammer-setting-fire-house-brother
All one has to do is read the headlines...apparently murderers can be any age. They know what they are doing, and they do not care. Nip 'em in the bud before they kill again.

That's ridiculous... I don't understand how you could just "kill for fun." What the hell has gotten in the minds of kids these days??? Jesus... -_-

because it's illegal and immoral to execute a teen and to put a teen in an adult prison. that's as black and white as it can get.

I do depending on the crime involved. If it was your child how would you feel?
I sure know how Id feel !

that's why it's preferable that the law doesn't operate on emotion unless you prefer that this country to be like Middle East.

I'm going to have to agree to this for the shooter, yes. But the ones that were just in the car and didn't actually pull the trigger? I don't think the death penalty is right for them really. Life in prison? I can live with that... but death for not killing? Can't go that far personally. The shooter is 17, in most states 17 you are legally able to be emancipated, and therefore act as an adult. It's 1 year or less shy of "adulthood." I support the death penalty for him... yes. The way this nation is going though, I think 25 is going to be the new "adult" age before too long... too many irresponsible idiots running around to have it be 18... I'm not saying EVERYONE under 25 is an irresponsible idiot... just most people now a days it seems... sadly...

that's why it's entirely up to prosecutors to whether or not to charge him as an adult depending on a circumstance and they did charge them as adults.

Only because it was changed, but now it needs to be re-evaluated because times have changed. Just like most other laws as well.

not likely.

but what's good is that a prosecutor has a discretion to charge a minor as an adult or not. that's all we need.

what are you whining about? these teens are charged as adults. what more do you want?

The driver was just as bad, he knew what he was doing, He was basically the carrier of the gun to the target, the shooter was the killer and the passenger knew what they were doing and didn't try to stop them, by reason or force... all guilty and all should be executed. The driver should have said no, the passenger as well, if the gun man wanted, he could have walked/ran, whatever to his target or shoot his so called friends/gang members.

I agree with the procecutor can and cant do, Not whining about anything just disagreeing with them putting an age cut off on criminals.

If they murder, they should have the options for the death pentalty... its an equal to the crime.

I agree but unfortunately... it's the people who have voted to abolish death penalty. my state has abolished it and I'm disappointed.

Here in Florida they love the death penalty... lol! I thought Oklahoma still had the Death sentence?

Is it immoral for a teen to kill an adult? No difference...they killed.
