was there actually a segregation? All I see is Tom Horne's hearsay. rambling. tirade. That is why Jan Brewer signed this law. It does away with segregation.
The bigotry I see is in the courses themselves. I like this law.
Ethnic studies classes in a public school........Sounds like a course in discourse. Valuable time taken from learning skills and spent on learning to bitch about differences instead.
exactly what courses are they? what are these materials like? Again - all I see is Tom Horne's hearsay. rambling. tirade.
If the course material does indeed preach about racial resentment toward whites..... then I support this law.
what about it? I don't see anything that preaches of resentment or violence or anything at all against white people. I suppose you want them to remove MLK material too?
I am not commenting on racist rhetorical analysis.
It looked like a class being conducted in Mexico to me. Isn't Mexico a country?
your post does not make any sense. You are not commenting on "racist rhetorical analysis" but you just concluded that this class was being conducted in a racist manner.
I still won't take the bait
Are teacher's allowed to teach religion in class? Is prayer allowed? Are they allowed to say "God has spoken" in regards to their "revolutionary cause"?
but religion is not being taught here. do you agree that MLK history should not be taught in class?
Really? What, or who .. is Ollin?
still waiting - do you think MLK history should NOT be taught in class?
I don't know and I don't think Ollin is the name of God.I am still waiting, who is Ollin?
how does teaching about MLK history promote segregation by race? how can Arizonians celebrate diversity if Governor banned ethnic studies?I believe I already answered your question (if segregated by race it should not be allowed).
Can you wrap your mind around this .... celebrating diversity without all inclusiveness based on race?
I don't know and I don't think Ollin is the name of God.
how does teaching about MLK history promote segregation by race? how can Arizonians celebrate diversity if Governor banned ethnic studies?
so do you think MLK history should not be taught in class?
When I grew up, we did not have ethnic studies, we had social studies. The entire class, not just whites, not just blacks, not just Latinos , not just Asian, etc. but ALL of us, were taught about MLK and his contributions to America.
So?
exactly what is this "ethnic studies"? It sounds like a made-up word for political agenda
The way I read it, ethnic studies is an all inclusive class (excluding other races) and is segregation.
Social studies is integrated.
do you know how is it being taught? what is being taught? what the course material is like? anything at all?
do you mean to tell me that all we got is Tom Horne's hearsay without any actual sample of this "ethnic studies"?
When I grew up - we did not have ethnic studies either. Do you know why? There's no such term as "Ethnic Studies". There's no such thing at all (except at college for advanced study). It's a made-up politically-charged word. When I grew up, we did not have ethnic studies, we had social studies. The entire class, not just whites, not just blacks, not just Latinos , not just Asian, etc. but ALL of us, were taught about MLK and his contributions to America.
So?
btw: Ollin is the name of an Aztec Deity and as you well know, a government entity cannot respect an establishment of religion
