This morning, my wife was trying to get our car start but almost could not start at all but made it and then i drove the car to gas station to fill the gas up to ready to go to SF for my wife's doctor appt. today. And then we went to 7-11 store to get iced mocha for my wake up to drive long distance. When we are ready to go and our car won't start at all and then i had to push our car while my wife steer the car backward and park on the street to avoid towing on 7-11 store parking lot. We had to walk back home in approximately 3 miles and then we asked our across neighbor to take us back to our car to remove the PVC valve and took us to auto part stores but they do not have the correct parts, so he took us to ford dealer parts department to purchase the correct parts for it and took us back to our car and fixed and hoped it would start but NADA!!! Dang!!! It must be the starter or something.... We did buying new battery last month as we thought it should take care of it but NOPE!!!! And asked our neighbor guy (Scott) to take us to food store and then home so he did..... Today is MY BIRTHDAY that our car broke down completely!!! And i called the car insurance company about towing package including but she said NO because of "low cost automobile insurance" that won't cover that!!!! SIGH I tried to call my boss to help us out but it was answering machine - Damn!!! We could not do anything right now!!!!! SIGH!!!!!

Sorry to hear that.

A PVC valve is a little piece of plastic tubing that allows engine oil vapors back into the air filter as part of the emissions, it will never cause a "no-start" problem.

You need to have a mechanic look at the car. It could be a bad alternator, MAP sensor, etc.

just a month ago, our car stopped on the bottom of a slope exiting to a heavy traffic road. It was scary because it could stop anywhere and I was thankful (to God), that it stopped where it stopped and didn't stopped as I was driving along in the 45-55 mph traffics.

It turned out that it was a fuel pump. It was bad. Costed me $600 which went straight to our credit card.

Thanks Green427..... We suspect that it must be either starter or alternator or some other wire connection as we do not know where to start with.... Right now we are very low on money until Dec. 1st that's when we get paid.... We cannot afford any mechanic to look at or solve problem on that part.... We spent 51.12 for the pvc valve assembly line from ford dealer today.

deafgal001 - ouchie $600 dollars for a fuel pump.... Since we do not have any credit card to pay for parts and labor at auto mechanic shop for repair or replace the parts yet..... We don't get paid until Dec. 1st then we will have to fix the car for the next trip to SF again in third and fourth week of Dec. to make a doctor appointment there.... SIGH!!!!!

Don't spend any more money guessing what the problem is.

What kind of Ford is it? Year and mileage?

"low cost automobile insurance"

sounds like you meant - "limited coverage liability". They do not cover for anything except the victim's car damage you caused.

You should get a AAA membership. it's cheap.

1998 Ford Escort Wagon with over 230,000 miles since we bought it about 4 to 5 years ago.

Jiro... that's correct "limited coverage liability" for this Low Income Automotive Insurance for California - we got 233 dollars a year for this insurance which we can afford it this time as we are trying to cut back on our expenses and plus trying save money for our moving in next year or two and same time we did cut back on cable expenses and got the free DTV broadcast with HDTV antenna - still limited channels but it's worth to us!!! :D We could not afford this AAA membership anyway.

Damn, that is old and high-mileage. Don't take it to the dealer: take it to a reputable independent shop. Dealers cost twice as much to get the same kind of work done.

We did not take our car to dealer as we know they charge for high pricing for labor and parts as we have no choice as we did go to two different auto part stores as they do not carry the rubber hose that fits the pvc itself and we do not know where to a reputable independent shop here in Chico, CA. That put us frustration that our neighbor Scott is not much helping us as he is old man and was a vet. veteran. Sigh!!! I did taking the parts off from the pvc tube line myself and brought to dealer as they know what they are doing with that part.....

We are traveling a lot to SF, Redding, Sacramento, Roseville and few places in northern CA.... The VR did paying the repairs when we were client that time in about two to three years ago to keep the car running but now we are not client of VR anymore... So, we have to pay our pocket for any repairs while on SSI which is SUCKS!!!!! We cannot afford to sell it or trade for another vehicle right now.....So, we need TWO vehicles for purpose of transportation to anywhere especially going to SF for my wife's doctor appointments and mine too....

I hope your problem will be resolved as less painful as possible :(

I'm sorry you're having such a rough time with your car. :( I know how frustrating and discouraging that can be.

Despite all that, I wish you a happy birthday. I hope tomorrow is a better day for you.

After waiting for neighbor's best friend called us on vp this morning after we left our apt and went for walk to food store to cash the check that my boss gave me $160 dollars advance so i cleaned at his furniture store and plus working over the weekend.... And then we went to Round Table Pizza for lunch buffet and then i told her that we can take bus to get home and she does not want to ride on the bus but i insisted her to get on the bus and we did got on the bus all the way home as she gulped and thought that any bus runs down like graffiti inside and dirty but she was wrong about that and relieved to ride that bus to our home today.... She felt very very tired from long walk today!!! Bus fare was 1.40 for both of us!! Not bad at all.... :D Around 4:40 to 4:43 pm tonight, i called towing company to find out how much for tow our car back home and said that 45 dollars but if after 5 pm will cost 55 dollars but luckily that we paid 45 dollars for our car to be towed back home from 7-11 store which was 2 to 3 miles.... SIGH!!!! Good to see our car on our street in front of our apt right now - Nothing happened to our car at near 7-11 store - WHEW!!!!! :thumb: :D
