Model Secondary School for the Deaf.
I've read every post HA made on the page you linked to. There is no quote from her saying "CI improved my quality of life." Nor is there anything that implies it. Like I said, if you have something, you need to show it.
As I thought.
How's the dancing, Jiro?
Um, you said you wouldn't take the treatment since CI is good enough for you now. And now you are saying you'd take the treatment should the treatment (i.e. stem cells to treat hearing loss) be available today???I'd rather take the treatment that's available today. There's no sense in waiting for something that will most likely never happen.
http://www.alldeaf.com/hearing-aids...ls-something-improve-hearing.html#post1341065Besides, I have CIs so there is no need for me to seek any other kind of treatment for my deafness.

Attention:
As for improving quality of life, stop arguing whether CIs or stem cells may or may not improve the quality of life for others. You don't know their reasons and they don't have to disclose their reasons. Just talk about why you want stem cells or why you wish to stick with HAs or CIs. Talk about yourself and your own life only. Let others speak for themselves, please don't speak for others because you don't know their reasons.
As I said before a few postings ago, the quality of life is rather subjective and personal so it's different for each person when it comes these kinds of technology (CIs or HAs). What's more to be said?
It is just my personal opinion and knowledge of the subject that stem cells or in the subject of biotechnology will provide the means to restore hearing loss to that of normal hearing. I've provided the links as to why this is the case. And the rate of research being done in this area will help ensure that a treatment will become viable in the very near future...definitely within my lifetime.
Others can stop with this -> nonsense.
Is that really a necessary ? I mean, do they required to have CIs ?
Heairng people view deafness as limiting. I dont think it is necessary but they think differently. Oh well.

Sighted people feel the same way about blindness.
Yea I agree..I admit I used to think that way. Hell, I even used to think that was about deafness because I was so brainwashed into thinking I was disabled and incapable of doing as much as my hearing peers could do. No wonder I ended up with depression!
