I feel the same about the stem cells. I probably won't live long enough, but I do think the potential for stem cells is something that should not be discounted.

Yeah, but right now stem cells are in the "maybe it might help, maybe it won't" stage of possibilty.
Deafdude, why are you anti CI but pro stem cell? That doesn't make any sense. With stem cells you're cured. With CI, you're still basicly deaf (and you acheive all sorts of hearing levels......just as with hearing aids....What I mean by that is that people with CIs can hear at different levels ranging from enviromental sound perception to hoh, just like HA users can)
