I'm heavily support Stem Cell Research for reason with health issues. I heard Obama is support Stem Cell Research. Did you hear?


Please don't start with bashing on everyone's POV.
 
Yes, I do support stem cell research, as I see it as the next step in finding cures for many dibilitating diseases. I am not so concerned about it's application to deafness, but to other diseases that result in early death and profound disability.

That's good post. I need the stem cell research for my retinal disease. Remember I told you before. My husband is support Stem Cell Research. He disagree with McCain's oppose on Stem Cell Research. My husband is caring about my vision and need the stem cell.

I feel the same way. There are many diseases that can be cured if we only had the necessary funding for the research.
 
Basically I support it but I wonder how they do those special researches ? by using what ?

I think the research has a long way to do before being a practical solution to some of our problems

Good post! You just echoed all my sentiments.

I have made it clear in a living will that my organs are to be donated, my cadaver is to be donated for research and also I need to fix my living will that my skeleton is to be donated for medical school. Basically everything about me is to be donated. I won't be using my body when I pass on.

Stem cell research is a touchy issue. I respect the issues around stem cell research, it has accomplished a lot. Other POVs, I truly respect so much.

I suspect a lot of emotions around stem cell research derives from the fact aborted fetuses are used for stem cell and the ethics around it. Remember the women who aborted their fetuses gave permission to allow this stem cell research to continue.

Just want to point out something -

Many states restrict research on aborted fetuses or embryos, but research is often permitted with consent of the patient.

They could. But they could also use cells harvested from the umbilical cords of infants born alive. And there has recently been advances that allow the researchers to take any cell from the human body and convert it to a stem cell.

Thank you, Mrs. Bucket.:ty: I too have an organ donation order in the case that my organs are viable for transplant. In addition, I have donated anything left over to medical science. I certainly won't need it anymore, and better my legacy is to continue the research that can help others than to simply lie in the ground and rot.
 
Didn't we have lengthy discussion about this? Well my position on this is ABSOLUTELY YES. This is ESPECIALLY useful for nerve-related damage/cancer/disease... something that surgery and medication cannot effectively fix.
 
OH YES! I support it! It help to cure some rare disease. I happened read it online...the stem cells can cure over 40 diseases! I can't remember where I read that. but pretty interesting! I don't mind to donate my organs as long as they are healthy and no damages etc.
 
Stem cell research and benefits is good discussion. The benefits could almost be endless, so much fascinating things can develop with it. I hope it turns out to help a lot of people's lives. I think about stem cell research a lot with my profession and fantasize about doing that for future career as biologist/ geneticist.

I believe it worth the risks. I have donated my umbilical cord after my daughter was born. I believe helping others is worth it. :)
 
i support stem cell research of course but human cloning would just be weird. Unless i can clone my girlfriend and have a threesome! :D
 
I am in complete support for the Stem Cells Research.

Not only because of the disabilities but for many more such as helping others that are in a life-threatening situation, so and on.

A lot of people get it confused with Cloning. It is not entirely the same thing. The stem cells does clone the cells itself but as a whole? I could be wrong though.

Really?? Did you donated your umbilical cord after baby was born? It's very interesting. Do I should use my umbilical cord after my future baby birth to treat my vision disease? I just wonder
