Are you sick of highly paid teachers?

Have you mentioned anywhere above as to why they aren't?

I would guess because they love what they do and didn't get into teaching for the money.

My daughter's school was like a family. I saw most teachers at every event. Most of the coaches are volunteers (some teach and volunteer to coach) too....they just love working with kids. I think the head football coach is the only paid coach.

Teachers even gave out their home phone numbers in case a student needed help with an assignment.

They work part time teaching, dont they? They got full time jobs in other areas according to you.

I dont know why this interests you because you dont seem to care for public school teachers and your child never went to one.

Because I pay a shitload of school taxes....

That's nice but it didn't happen to my sister when she attended at private school for few years, she doesn't get teacher's telephone number either and some of teachers don't offer help with her. She had went back to public school after can't keep up with private school due to academic difficultly and ADD problem.

Giving telephone number to students are nice, most college teachers do like that and few teachers at public school too.

So, you dont think teachers should earn enough to be able to support themselves?

Well, I don't think it is worth to argue with someone whoever against on public school and it is their view that you couldn't change them. That's fine with me if TXgolfer doesn't support public school and doesn't give a ratass to public school teachers.

I had seen some people are against on public school, of course, it is their views.

 Maybe that would work....people would see just how ridiculous unions are today and run them off.

Nah, anybody that tours an auto manufacturer or union construction site can see how worthless union workers have gotten.

$75/hr to push a button on a robot.... *smh* . Monkeys will do it for a banana and won't call in sick. Bring back the $5,000 cars!

Oh really? My sister and her husband both retired from GM as autoworkers and they would gladly rip your tongue out. :)
Media still wedded to $70+ per hour autoworker falsehood despite GM's recent statements to the contrary | Media Matters for America

I'll not argue "the "love", the "calling" but they must be well off enough in other ways or through someone else to do this. That's something I wish I was able to do way back when.....

Why? Teachers are the most important workers in this country now and we should listen to them about ideas for improving education across the board as well as their wages.

My little sister certainly has complained about it. She used to be a 2nd grade teacher before getting a Ph.D and working in the Aminstrative section of the Education dept.

Although I think it has appeared that way a number of posts back, I don't think she means to take it out on you......at least I hope not.

Just the vibes I was getting from him.

It does include average pay for private school teachers?
I'm still looking for that. I had to take a supper break. :)

It's going to be hard to find good figures for an average of private school salaries. There is such a wide range of salaries, and not all private schools are included in data bases.

Take the information in the databases with a bit of salt, because as Shel pointed out, they lie about raises.

They dont lie but it is based on the assumption that teachers are getting raises when nowadays it is not happening. It seems outdated.

Raises are projections which are always subject to change depending of current economic trends. That's going to be the case no matter what the chart is.

That's fine, but I still call it disinformation. Supposedly a teacher gets raises totalling an average of 40% over ten years and we know it is complete rot.

Yeah, I know. Sickening.
