Are you guys sick of the USA?

Agreed, but at the same time I think more could be done to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and would-be criminals. A good example would be the Virginia Tech massacre and the numerous inner-city gangsters and thugs owning guns for the sole purpose of murdering people.

I own guns, I like to shoot guns for sport such as sporting clays and bird hunting, but that's about it.

that's why with lesser gun restriction for law-abiding citizens.... these murderers would think twice before doing it ;)

In Austria I think it is a requirement that if you are a male over 17 you have to own a gun for self protection. They also have the lowest murder rates in the world, likely because any house you break in to, you are very likely to get shot. Just the thought of getting shot may be enough of a deterrent in that part of the world.

But here in the US, I think criminals here are more ballsy and are willing to get shot; even risk death to commit crimes.

I feel weak in my knees....

those criminals you're talking about? most of them are ballsy because they're on drugs like PCP and/or a hardened career criminal. That's why the society should allow the citizens to be armed (by choice)... discreetly. I do not support open-carry especially in large town/city.

True, PCP and LSD can make one almost 'superhuman'. But of course we all know what the after-effects are, and they are not fun!

"Drugs are bad for you'" and "Just Say NO!" mantras come to mind.

First time I heard of LSD making one superhuman, on the same par as PCP. Dang.

well - it was experimented by CIA/military on their soldiers back in Vietnam War. They needed to make their soldiers fearless and alert for prolonged period of time but obviously..... the experiment was an EPIC FAIL!

it induced extreme paranoia and disturbing hallucination.... not what you want from a soldier trained to kill...... :cold:

Hmmm. Maybe that was why Jimi Hendrix'es Purple Haze rocked during the Vietnam war.
But kidding aside, those experiments go back to the fifties, and who says they are an epic fail? shrugs

That's ok... not everyone likes guns but I do beleive we should have the right to bear arms, it is a constitutional right that should not be revoked.

It's just that guns scares me. A gun gives us the capabilty to do serious harm to innocent people. And also gives us the capability to off ourselves as well. It's scary. It can be so easy to do those things. I know, guns don't kill people...but they do ASSIST people in killing others. People shoot people with guns, they are used to kill people with. Get what I mean? That's the scary part.

I have been told sociocultural factors decide murder rate, not number of guns. Countries with lots of guns among the civil population, are often wealthy and the population can afford guns for hunting and leisure activities. Wealthy people don't kill each other. Poorer countries got less buying power and less guns, but are more exposured to crime and corruption.

Lol, no, Pinky, its not what you do mean. "Fireman" is not related to criminal people, terrorism, or any wrongful action.

"fireman" means ... "firefighter" or "stoker".

Also --

1. A person who is employed to extinguish or prevent fires; firefighter.

2. A person is employed to tend fires.

3. U.S. Navy -- an enlisted person who is assigned to the care and operation of a ship's machinery.

You should say a "firearm" instead of "fireman". Cos it is accurately correct to say it, otherwise, it is not consistent sentence.

Just for your info. :)

Thank you KarissaMann05. I guess I just didn't quite know how to explain it.
