I want to get a CI, I just don't have any insurance so I can't. Hopefully one day I'll have the insurance and I'll be able to get one.

You can apply for Medicaid for insurance by your state. Ask the nearest Social Security office where you can go to apply for Medicaid. Don't stay without insurance. They also can help pay for a CI and the evaluations. Either way, get Medicaid while you can't afford one right now. You don't have to wait for someday. You should have this should you ever need any medical help.

Hooray for you! Hope you can qualify!

I might concern having CI implant. I did research here who have opinions and facts especially Boult's helpful and experiences.

i am considering of CI due to the fact the HA only limits my speech comprehension and among other factors. i was born deaf and raised orally, been wearing HA since i was 3, mainstreaming most of my life. fortunately, i have deaf and hearing friends. many times i feel torn between them two cuz i like to go out to the bars, concerts, being around other people but alot of time, i feel isolated cuz i only catch about 5-10% of the conversation (talk about being left out) but with deaf people, they're very picky (most of my friends are) they dont want to go to the bar or concert or whichever involve "hearing" things (music, people chatting, etc) argh!! i'm hoping CI will give me the benefits to feel included and carry a conversation with hearing people. i wont abandon my deaf friends of course, just improve my "hearing" is all i ask. also they ask for me to interpret for them cuz i "hear" and "understand" better than them. hopefully the CI will give me that "inclusion" feeling and better speech comprehension. i will post more of my updates about CI candidate. i went to see an audi last dec (06) and she said i'm a candidate but at the time, i was not interested. after meeting people with CI, they gave me a better understanding about it and i was intrigued by it. so as of now, i'm researching everything as much as possible. remember, i was raised hearing/orally...i will go nuts if i dont hear anything for more than a day!! i love music! i want to be able to join the conversation instead of people relaying the convo to me cuz they always cut out the stuff i wanna hear. i wanna do things myself without relying on lip readings, captions, interpreters, etc. in time, i am hoping that i am a candidate for CI and the process crap will approve me. i'll update eventually....:fingersx:
