If people can't use GPS, too bad. We didn't have GPS 20 years ago (for vehicles) yet we still survived.

because of GPS - we traveled further than before... to go where no man & woman has gone before.

That's an interesting argument since people have been able to travel across the country or around the world 20 years ago without GPS. Your point?

First you say there shouldn't be a law. Now you say that flip could severely injure or kill someone because he learned about the dangers of texting after the fact (i.e. having a slight accident).

I never said this text ban law shouldn't exist. I said this kind of approach is wrong. It doesn't solve anything. My question is not irrelevant at all because what if people did same as what flip did but the result is different since you said - "I wish other people would follow your example." What if the people hit the people instead of bump? That is vehicular manslaughter for that driver and a coffin for victim's family.

Your comment implies that you're ok with people learning from it by making mistake... called ACCIDENT... which COULD be a person. I prefer a SAFER way - the similar way that German driver education teaches to their students thus has a much safer driving record than Americans.

My blindness has nothing to do with this and I don't need anything "special" to protect me, thank you very much.

As to whether or not my post makes sense, that is your interpretation and an incorrect one at that.

I believe in laws and you don't. That's all this comes down to. It is not a matter of me being confused or ill informed. Just because I support a national law to ban texting does not mean I am any more confused than someone who doesn't.

that's a pretty good idea. more profits for private prisons... meaning a higher rate employments

Did you ever stop and consider the fact that there are plenty of idiot drivers who received extensive driver's education yet they still drive like idiots?
