Allergies? Fluid in your Ear?

just wanted to be safe than sorry. The drops are annoying and isn't doing anything for me. So on the 24th if I'm good from my MRI I'm going to ask the doctor to flush my ear.

I had a grandfather who went in every three months to get his ears "irrigated and flushed". I just use what a doctor told my parents to do for me since I was 6. It's a mixture of alcohol, peroxide and water. Been doing that for 41 years and not had any problems. I also use it on hubby and son and they no longer have any problems. Hubby's ears would always fill with fluid due to allergies, but since I started this, he has had 18 years of no problems.

Except for the missing eardrums , decayed cochlea, and now bones falling out?

LadySolitary, have a doctor do this for you.

:laugh2:

I would never attempt to try and fix it myself. This is my only good ear. If I can't hear out of it naturally fine, but I wont do more damage to it.

A friend told me to use peroxide on it and hes hard of hearing as well. I wont even chance that.

I'm not quite sure I understand. Yes, I do still do the treatment in spite of no ear drums, no cochlea and missing bones. I still get a lot of water in my ears when showering and I still get a lot of wax in the ear. This treatment is not the cause of my issues. Calcium deposits that I was born with are the root cause of my issues in the ear. It is believed that I got those deposits as a result of my breech birth and the distress involved.

The measurements of the mix is: 1 part alcohol, 1 part peroxide and 2 parts warm water. Use an ear syringe and an eye dropper. Drop the mixture in the ear and let it sit, then use the syringe to rinse with more warm water.

still better safe than sorry, at least if a doc is doing it then there is less chance of a mess-up.

I'm sorry to hear about that. Progressive deafness is one of the things that can happen with MS.

Neurologist appointment on the 19th, so that's not too far away....
just taking it one day at a time now....

Interesting. Have you ever lose your balance, seeing so blurry out of blue once in a while or you drop something unexpectedly or feeling some tickles in somewhere in body or head or feeling so numb in somewhere body or head?

My sister has a MS and did not have hearing loss, yet. She is doing ok as long as she has a medicine that keeps her going on.

Please don't panic! Which must be hard to do since you have to wait to see what "something on the MRI" might be....
