Airplane Crash today and is Missing

I thought about this , if the plane went of course why wasn't it consider a threat and shot down by the military . It could had used as weapon if it was hijacked by terrorists . How do we know if it was an error or a cover-up??? The link you posted said some of the families are hoping it was hijacked and flown to an abandoned WW 2 runway in a jungle . The runway would over grow with weeds etc 70 years later unless it was someone cleared it out.

the runaway is most likely still usable. it probably looks like this -

I am surprise it not over grown with weeds etc after all that time. I think it's pretty far fetch that plane was landed in a jungle like some of the families think happen. I can understand them hoping this happen , it give them some hope that their love ones are still alive. I hope to HELL they get some real concrete answers very soon so they'll know what to do next.

not easy for vegetations to completely cover an airport since it's flattened out and well-built. it would take probably hundreds of years for an airport to be completely covered.

I am sad to not be optimistic at all on this. I believe Flight 370 met its end right there shortly after the signoff leaving Malaysian airspace. Airline traffic continues on like nothing happened. Why? Because the true fate of the jet has been covered up. There is no way in Hell that 777 flew 7.5 hours without being observed or tracked.

Will Authorities Ever Find Missing Malaysia Flight 370? - NBC News

Nightly News is saying the plane may never be found or it could take up to a year for parts of the plane to come to shore . The utubes have CC ,there is 3 utubes about the plane.

EW's are a dime a dozen. They aren't as rare as you think.

I'm not discounting any theories right now but neither am I jumping on any bandwagons without some real proof.

Have I not given references so far? i haven't jumped on any proverbial bandwagons either, so I am confused why you would use that phrase.

On March 8, 2014, Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 disappeared from civilian radar. Amid unusual (some say unlikely) theories that the flight may have landed, can we figure out how many runways might be available?

Data from X-Plane provides coordinates for runways around the world. A Boeing 777 pilot is quoted in Slate as estimating a runway length requirement of 5,000 feet. A recent Wall Street Journal article quoted sources stating the flight could have continued for 2,200 nautical miles from its last known position.

The WNYC Data News team found 634 runways that meet these criteria, spread across 26 different countries, including such far-flung places as:
Gan Airport (Maldives), Dalanzadgad Airport (Mongolia), Yap Airport (Micronesia), Miyazaki Airport (Japan)
As speculation grows that there may be a slim chance Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 landed somewhere after it suddenly disappeared from radars, WNYC published a map to illustrate all the possible runways that could have been used. The WNYC Data News team used information from X-Plane that provides runway coordinates from around the world to determine all the possible spots that could be available for the plane to land within 2,200 nautical miles, considering a Boeing 777 would need a runway of at least 5,000 feet. There are a total of 634 runways that fit the criteria, spread out across 26 countries. But of course the number of places the plane could have landed is much larger as it assumes the plane used a formal runway in the first place. Slate’s Jeff Wise spoke to a pilot who flies 777-200s who said the plane could be landed on a highway. “A runway wouldn’t even necessarily have to be paved,” wrote Wise, “hard-packed dirt would likely be good enough.”

Does the possibility that the plane is on land change anything about the investigation?

Yes, analysts told CNN. It means it's even more pressing that authorities find the plane. "Time is even more of the essence. If this airplane has been taken to be used as a weapon, then the time that has been taken to prepare the aircraft for whatever deed is the plan -- obviously to thwart that, it's all about time," said Shawn Pruchnicki, who teaches aviation safety and accident investigation at Ohio State University. CNN aviation analyst Jim Tilmon, a former American Airlines pilot, said whoever deliberately steered the plane off course likely did it with help. But what's next is anyone's guess, he said. "We have been behind them all along," he said. "So now, if they had a plan, and if that plan included being able to set down someplace and refuel a little bit, we are looking at something that we may never see the end of."

Missing flight MH370: Australia handed MH370 search zone after 'good night' call revealed - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
'Most botched aircraft investigation in history'

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop told Question Time that Australia would continue to hand all of its defence intelligence to Malaysian authorities, who have overall responsibility for the operation.

But a senior aviation writer told The World Today that governments should be telling the Malaysian authorities they are not competent to run the investigation.

Editor of website airlineratings.com, Geoffrey Thomas, says the search for the missing Malaysian Airlines plane is "one of the most botched aircraft investigations in modern history".

"Unfortunately we have not been told by the Malaysians in a timely fashion about the shutting off of the ACARS, the shutting off of the transponder, the plane going to the west," he said.

"Millions of dollars has been wasted, days have been wasted searching in the wrong area. I think this is without doubt one of the most botched aircraft investigations in modern history."

Thomas says Malaysian authorities have known the vital information since the plane went missing on March 8 and it is "inexcusable" that information was not revealed on the day.

He says if the information had been released earlier it would have focused the search on a narrower area.

"Look, absolutely. I mean, for instance, the whole 10 or 15 nations wouldn't have wasted time looking in the South China Sea," he said.

"They would have been looking over in the Indian Ocean, west of Malaysia, not east of Malaysia.

"Critical time has been lost here and it's just inexcusable and it's dashed the hopes of the relatives and given them a torturous seven days of theory, then no theory, then counter-theory. All of that could have been dashed and we could have been looking in the right place.

"You'd have to say, without further clarification, the Malaysian air investigation, the Department of Civil Aviation in Malaysia is to blame. They're running the investigation.

"It's not Malaysian Airlines' fault. It's the fault of the authorities and the military in Malaysia as well."

Thomas says that if the plane flew into the middle of the Indian Ocean then the chances of finding it are "remote".

"This aeroplane may join a long list of planes that have disappeared over the last century with no trace whatsoever," he said.

Defence Minister David Johnston says he is satisfied with the communications from Malaysian authorities.

"I am satisfied with them. I think they're as perplexed as we are and, you know, I've seen an absolute parade of experts on television stations pontificating and hypothesising about what has happened to this aircraft," he said.

"It is most mysterious."

Mr Johnston says he is prepared for Australian teams to keep searching for weeks for the missing Malaysian jet carrying 239 people.

"I think we are locked in to do what we can to assist the Malaysians as best we can for as long as it takes," he said.

"That doesn't mean we will be there for the next 12 months but nevertheless we've got to really make a big effort in these next two or three weeks, certainly, to get to the bottom of what has happened here."

Have they ever reveal whose 239 peoples names and pictures that we can see. It may make any differences if they reveal who are they are. why are they hiding?

Have I not given references so far? i haven't jumped on any proverbial bandwagons either, so I am confused why you would use that phrase.
Linkedin, Google and Wikipedia are not proof.

Wreckage, black boxes, reconnaissance photos, documents (plans, suicide notes), computer forensic results, etc., are proof.

I didn't say that you were jumping on any bandwagons. I said that I'm not jumping on any bandwagons. That means I'm not supporting one scenario over another. I'm trying to look at the pros and cons of each one.

The confusing part is why you took that statement personally?

I stay away from that happened because I don't want to fall for conspiracy theories. Like those "9/11 is myth" stuff, "phanes don't exist", and etc.

As for that names list, I don't know why it bothers me, but it seems odd to have many same names. Hmm...

Jiro and Steinhauer this thread is not for you guys to prove who is better at debating . How about the two of you making a thread to duke it out with one another. We all know how the two feel about one another views . We got it a long time ago.
