I was wondering if any of ya have ran into problems with AIM while ya have the ZoneAlarm software.. seems I cannot stay online in AIM for a long time and ZA go bonkers and shut down AIM and teh true vector error pop up box show up and then etc.. I have gone online for about 20 mins or so and then boom off AIM.. grrr.. it has been that way for the last 2 months or so.. I havent even been on AIM for a long time, since maybe last week of January or so.... I would love to get back onto AIM and maybe get the ZA issue solved..anyone can give me some advice on this problem to be fixed?? I would appreciate it very much!

Is there a way you can temporary disable it. If not check if there is a way of getting ZoneAlarm to alow certain programs.

I have tried to Google for a solution to this..and thought I found one..and tried that solution on this.. didnt work as I thought it would...I'm still thinking of what to do to get ZA to allow AIM to be online for longer than 20 mins or less... blah...

I don't use ZoneAlarm. I think it's annoying.

A friend of mine used to have that and it was always slowing down his computer. He removed it and is now happy. :)

There is something you might want to read:
Why home firewall software is a leaky dike : Mail & Guardian Online

It's about outgoing protection that's not worth doing it...Malware can deactivate firewall if you don't follow your safety habits for using your computer and surfing the Internet properly. The first line of defense is the user and it's dependent on users' habits for using the Internet.

I dont use zonealarm anymore. few years ago not sure when is that. I download zonealarm and later it is annoying that some block my computer system so I had to remove it and it work for me.

Maybe try remove zonealarm and use other program not know which I am not computer whiz lol

Could u possible to try uninstall that and reinstall to see how it works? It happened to me when I had to try to unintalled Yahoo and reinstall yahoo and all of suddenly it worked for me.. I am just about kill yahoo when they upgrade without me knowing it..

There's few verison of aim - for your issues - i highly recommend for you to uninstall any aim software on your system and install aim pro (it's for business purpose) works excellent.

if the problem constant then you probably will like to google to find more depth information about your current aim version with zonealarm, if you can't find sufficient information then probably will need to contact aim for tech support.

do whatever works for you.

Northstar, I know what your problem is....ya hafta excuse Nutty for snacking on walnuts during his recent hibernation that really gummed up your system. Serves ya right for letting him hibernate in there!

Obviously, there is a pattern here with the two of you...take the bickering, the belittling, etc., elsewhere...Alldeaf can do without the drama.

I didn't start it. I just wanted to be clear that sometimes some people do have problems with AIM.
