Actress Lindsay Lohan is BUSTED!! For violate probation

Is it right to belittle her and humiliate her in front of the world and keep kicking her (metaphorically speaking) while she's on ground to force her into getting help?

That's not quite conducive to getting a troubled person into seeking treatment. It's a known fact that her father is the main source of the problem and her downfall.

Father's comment to public

No. In all fairness, you're right. It's not right at all. However, maybe with some people who HAVE to say stuff like that? But, I sure as heck wouldn't have done it so that the media got hold of it.

For the record, I wasn't arguing his comment was in good taste. More that it seems he felt he had no other choice otherwise he likely wouldn't have made that statement.

let me ask you this - do you know the whole story?

I'm quite certain I know just as much as you- that is unless you have an "in" with Michael, Dina, Ali, or another family member/friend.

right now I'm just waiting for her to shave her head and beat the side of an SUV with an umbrella and have a 52 hour marriage,

I'm not sure how I feel about the parent's here. I argue for her own personal responsiblity, but in all honesty, her parents sure as heck didn't give a rat's behind about anything except her career. Now that it's down the tubes and she is self destructing, where ARE her parents, really? Like Jiro said, do we know the WHOLE story?

Truthfully, I'm not sure we do. Lindsay bears responsiblity in this mess, but so do her parents. If you read up, Audio Fuzzy made a really good post regarding child stars and such. If memory serves me correctly, Lindsay's parents managed her career until she became of age. That means that this girl had adult responsiblities placed on her long before she was ready, and, who's fault is that? Lindsay's? No. Her PARENTS. NO child should be put in a position of making huge amounts of money, being in a position of being rejected for roles or being accepted and becoming a huge star. It doesn't always turn out well. Eventually, the current "IT" girl (or boy) is going to be replaced and then what? The person self destructs more often than not, because, they aren't ready to deal with the real world.

Some DO make it, but those that do are very few and far between.

It's just sad. I feel for Lindsay, but girl has got to grow up. Her father may be the scum of the Earth for all we know or not. We DON'T know, but what we DO know is we are watching this young woman self destruct before our eyes. And, it's happened many times before.

he shouldn't have made that derogatory remark about his daughter ever, period.

I don't know Lindsay whole story but I know this - good, strong families produce
good strong children, simple.

Rarely such a family have a "black sheep" and usually it's either neurological or psychiatric disease rather than bad parenting cause there is no bad parenting to begin with

Also, "drug users have a choice"? that's naive to think so.

Drug users, alcoholics are driven by one and only one thing in life - to get high/drunk, nothing else.
There is no rational thought in their brain, ever
so to expect they are capable of making the right decision is like putting
a dish full of candies and chocolate on one side and broccoli and meat on the other before 5years old and explain to them:

"this one will make you healthy and strong, gives you beautiful teeth and all,
and this one here will give you diabetes, obesity, other diseases
and rot your teeth.
make the right choice."

sheesh... :)

Wow wow - aren't you the expert in this field? I vaguely remember a PM asking me about drugs.......

:cool2:

yes - it's same ole' news that many child stars end up as a fuck-up but look at Nicole Richie, Hillary Duff, etc.... they're all fine. Paris Hilton turned out fine too despite of her humiliating incident with leaked sex tape. So why did most of Lindsay Lohan's friends turned out just fine and not her even though they partied together, snorted some coke and boozed together in the past?

From what I gathered from years of tiresome news headlines.... her downfall began when her parents divorced and had a bitter court fight over her finance. and also her father was very violent and has a serious anger control. In fact, he's an ex-con with alcoholic & cocaine problem who just got out of federal prison for his Wall Street crime. I guess apple doesn't fall far from tree, eh?

and of course - she's an adult and she's the one who made a choice in her life but I wouldn't go out like a mob on witch hunt on her. Every case is different and source of the problem must be found to begin healing. In Lindsay Lohan's case.... her father is the source of her problem.

Apparently my comment wasn't clear.

I am in no way condoning or supporting Michael Lohan's statement. My point was that it seems he was desperate and probably felt that was his only option to get his daughter the help she needs.

As others have said, she can't be helped unless she wants it- and it seems she doesn't want help.

I don't doubt that her father played a part in her destructive ways. With that said, their is something called personal accountability and free will.

It would be quite presumptuous of us to say we "know the whole story", when there are always facts and dynamics that are left out of what's leaked to the media.

I think he loves his daughter, he just clearly has poor judgement.

Fuzzy- I understand a drug addiction isn't something you can turn off and on with a switch.

lol!!! so why did you make your opinion in here about her? aren't you being presumptuous and judgmental too?

just admit it - you were making a blanket statement based on stereotype - "child movie star = they grow up as a fuck-up. bad teeth = meth/crack addict."

tsk....

Uh, no.

I know enough to form an opinion, just like you. Please stop presuming you know my position- you haven't the faintest idea.

I know enough that you don't know much about her and you don't give a damn.

It seems her father is grasping at straws, trying to do what he can to get her help. I don't see what he did as vicious- I see it as the only solution he sees at the moment, as other approaches haven't worked.

On one hand I feel sorry for her, but on the other hand I don't. She has control of her destiny. She has just chosen the less desirable option. When I say less desirable option, I mean the one that includes a short life span.

Sad, but true.

I want to ask.

“That’s from smoking a pipe with meth or crack. She’s smoking either crack or meth, one or the other. I’m not going to shade it. If you’re talking about prescription medication it would affect all your teeth, not just your two front teeth. You can’t dance with the devil and expect to go home with Jesus.”

Do you think that wasn't vicious thing to say in front of public about her?

I'm quite certain I know just as much as you- that is unless you have an "in" with Michael, Dina, Ali, or another family member/friend.

Just by reading this, I presume you to be the expert here. I have no idea who her family member names are, or if her last name is real. Seems you have undertaken the research for the board. :ty:

I want to ask.

Do you think that wasn't vicious thing to say in front of public about her?

Actually, I do think it was vicious. I retract that statement. But- my point is that I don't think he saw any other choice.
