Aarrggghhhh !!!!! My Hearing Aid Broke !!!!

ugh?!

I looked up on the info about HearX.. found several places near my home which is a good news! :) PLUS was suprised that HearX accepts Blue Cross Blue Shields health insurance which BCBS never told me. I called BCBS about 2 years ago wanting to know if there's any place that will accept BCBS health insurance and they told me no.
https://www.horizon-bcbsnj.com/aboutus_press_releases.asp?article_id=127&urlsection=aboutus :ty: Thanks, Nuty.. You've made my day! I will definitely contact HearX after I come back from my vacation. Next week I'm heading off to Austin, TX for 5 day..

No more hassle! ;)

I dont have to worry about this anymore that helps me to feel more freedom without any devices. ;) Save money that I didnt have to spend on it anymore.. Whoo hoo!

I dont have to deal with the brainwashing issue from those audism people anymore.. It s importance for me to adapt my own deafness that makes my life more relax and freedom.

I am surprised that you use the hair dryer awhile you are wearing your hearing aids on. That's pretty odd.

I believe that most plastic tubes are poor quality nowaday. I was told that it needs to be replaced every 6 months, but I rather to wait until the tube is broken. I remember 10 years ago the tube used to be strong and last long time. Beside, we need to wash them once a month, and maybe, they would stay a little longer.

Oh, shut up then go help him to find somewhere for repair on broken HA's tube :gives:

Around two weeks ago, I put my HA into my pocket while going on a trip. I hate to wear my HA unless it's necessary. (And yes, I get a wierd stare or two, when I use the 'point finger upwards' sign (Wait a sec, willya?) and fish my HA out of my pocket!) :)

Apparently, the HA has gotten stuffed into the pocket one time too many for its liking! :( It started crackling, almost staticky-like. Now, wearing the HA was very unpleasant.

I finally purchased a new Digital Super Power HA model from Siemens yesterday, setting me back roughly $1,000. Actually, I had planned on purchasing a digital HA for some time, as my current staticky analog model was well over 20+ years old.

Lo, and behold, and shades of Murphy's Law, in a Magoo fit, I dropped my analog HA onto the kitchen tile and the programming cover broke off. I carefully reassembled the cover back on, and tried the HA. Viola... No more static, and the HA was 'good as new'. :)

Well, I hope the digital HA will be a better fit for me than my current analog HA model will ever be. Even then, I'll inquire about a carrying case, so I can stash it into my pocket!

it's always a good idea to have a backup hearing aid in case something like this happens...

:gpost: Good point there too !!!!

I always kept my old HA just as a backup whenever I got a new one. Worked out quite well for me over the years.

My HA's always came with 2 cases, one hard and one soft. the soft one would be great for stashing the HA in your pocket.

If you have nothing constructive to offer those who have made the CHOICE to use HA's why are you bothering to post on this topic? :dunno:

PS to all: sorry didn't mean to feed 'em.

No need to cuz I can do anything except hear.. People need to hear the truth that we do not need to depend on those devices anyhow. Thats why I dont wear it any longer that makes me the whole of who I am.

Many deaf professionals did it in the old past years that they were successful all along without devices. That s factual. ;)

It s their attitude that they think we cannot function in this society however they were making a big mistake about us and our BI BI language as well. ;)

We are deaf as always that you couldnt handle it. What a pity! ;)

Thanks! ;)

Your choice. Quit judging the people that likes to hear with an aid. You are so hung up about "oh, we can do anything" or "no one accept us"
how can we accept you if you don't accept us HA's and CI's user?
You get mad if someone brags about HA or CI, yet you just keep on bragging about yourself, we have rights to do that too. I have no clue who appointed you BOSS of us deafie.

Right on! I, for one, AM Deaf too but I don't want to be "lumped" with her...
Stacie, this makes me think of "you are not the boss of me"! LOL
