Aarrggghhhh !!!!! My Hearing Aid Broke !!!!

I dropped my hearing aid once and the hook tube broke. They gave me an old broken used hearing aid of the same model and I took both apart and reassembled them to replace the broken hook tube. :thumb:

That is something I would like to know how to do after my warranty repairs expire in 6 months then I am on my own, of course I can always go to the big city if they have free repairs but where I live, they need to make money and a living and most of the clients that they get are senior citizens and not Deaf people so ....it is not that easy.

You have to go through schooling for hearing aid repair and cannot, unless trained, do it yourself.

Thousands of people who have not been trained have been very successful, of course training does help alots. I am sure fixing something like this is very basic and can be done but if it was to take the hearing aid apart and fix the mechanics of it then would have to go to school or follow the instructions on the internet or through a do it yourself book.

The ear hook and the tubing should be no big deal but the digital mechanics of what is inside the hearing aid probably will need to go to school to get trained up for that.
 
I hate when ear molds wear out and start making feedbacks and the tubes between the hook and ear molds wear out. It cost $60 each to get new ear molds, so that's $120 for 2. Yikes!

I just go to a hobby shop and buy a gas line for the gas R/C cars and they work perfect and fits snugly. They're cheaper than the hearing aid tubes from the audiologist or online. I just cut it to fit. ;) I haven't gone shopping for hearing aid repair insurance, yet. I will sometime.

Heath, Ask VR for help you to find somewhere to repair.

I cant believe that tooo experience!!! I take my husband go new both hearing aids. I found out whoa!!! toooo experience $$$$$$$$$$$$!!!! We dropped it up. We looked few coverage insurance for hearing aids. They not accepted huh??? :ugh2: :ugh2: We are looking other coverage ins for hearing aids. We not gave up it.....

You don't have to exchange the whole shebang - the tube and earmold - every time the tube breaks,
they can and should exchange just the tube. I had just this done not so long ago myself .

It should cost at most 5 bucks apiece. If you have new earmolds, sometimes they give you new tubes for free.

That is not true, EyesBlueDeaf.. I live in NJ too and I paid $90 for two molds from HearX two months ago. If you ever think of going to get a new mold or hearing aids, try to find HearX in your local area from the Yellow Pages directory phone book.

In my country, each molds costs about 13 $ !.
A super power digital hearing aid can be bought with cost of about 786 euros.
 
btw, I have no idea about hearing aid molds price listing..
cuz I don't wear heairng aid.. made me annoy and hurts high pitch!
ugh!

btw my hubby will get his hearing aid but not yet get it...
I'll find it out the price listing for earmolds.. :)
 
i got mine for only 30 dollars for a brand new mold.. not bad.. :D its not a full mold.. but half ear mold.. which is very comfy compare to the big mold.. i hate it.. :)
