I was using the air blower right ?

then I put the molding back on and the stem where it meets the molding broke. The stem just broke right off.

I was trying to put it back in and it just snapped.

I got furious and am not too happy but at least it is under warranty repairs....

so I will have to take it back to the eye and the ear, throat doctor to have a look at it and get it fixed.

Have you guys ever had this experience before ?

yes it had happened to me before.. i was so MAD.. lol.. found out they no longer fix that kind of hearing aid which made me MADDER more.. so i had to get another one.. sighs..

You are supposed to take off before start air blower? Have you read any warning manual? I don't think if including with new HA.

The molding has to come off in order to use the air blower just like any BTE hearing aid. Mine does come with an owner manual. I was just asking about anyone's experiences so that I know what to do once the warranty repairs run out. Mine is good for 6 months.

Yeah... the tubing get old.. it easily crack so therefore snapped off.. go see your audiologist to get your earmold refitted with new tubing. How long have you had this earmold. (if 5+ yrs then highly recommended to get new earmold :) ) I am sure your BTE and it's earhook is fine.. just that the tubing that is part of the earmold is broken off right?

The ear hook broke off at the edge when I put my molding back on the stem.

yes it happened to me many times. FYI: some hearing aid dealers charge between 10 to 20 dollars for a tube and 'labor' .. When I was in Lancaster vacationing, it broke and I went to downtown, found a dealer who charged it for a dollar a piece. I bought 10! I replace the tube myself. The tubes don't last longer like they used to many years ago.

Okay, that easily can be replaced by visiting your audiologist. :)

Why don't you buy....

Save your money encomey... wise!

instead expense hearing aid lot of money (flew your money from your pocket!)

If I need something really powerful, I just go to the auto repair shop in town and ask to use the air blowing machine from Briggs & Stratton.

Heath,
just helping you...

correct terminology for those parts are shown

Thank you, and you see where the earhook and the tubing connects, you know fits on right.... that is where it broke off in the middle. That is what I am talking about. Thank you for the correct terminology and the picture so I can explain better what happened. :) :thumb:

Yes DeafMonkey, I know how you feel. I can't hear anything now and I have to go to the audiologist office to get it fixed.

You might want to look at the new digital hearing aids, mine is digital which means they can computer programme it to your hearing levels that they find on the audiologist report and the graph chart. Looks like it is time for you to get new hearing aids. I use Enegrizer batteries from Durcell size 675 :) :thumb:

it sucks when HA breaks and need replaces or earmold break easy

i rarely use HA but i am sure i need to use that again

I recently had the earhook broken off because of the ear tube i was trying to fit.. so I was :hyper: so we went to a hearing aid area.. and they fixed the earhook firee for me. I was thrilled plus free tube! Maybe you should look into some hearing aid places that offers them for low price or totally for free! :)

I concur. Wetness and hearing aids is a no-no. :nono: Heat from dryer may harm hearing aids.
