Worst of it is, he just got fitted with his first hearing aid. Has nerve damage in one ear and now he feels that he is "stone deaf". I asked him about his level of loss, it is still in the mild-moderate range. He has seen my audiogram, but still doesn't believe. It's from an "inferior" state of Missouri.
He's not worth anymore effort. MIL will not understand changing churches. She's been at this one for 48 years and refuses to change. I will most likely just continue to drive, but sit in the car during service until we ever get a new pastor. I can read my bible and do my own studying. I have my grandfather's and great-grandfather's sermon notes from Aussieland, so I can use those and go from there.
I joke that he got his education and rights to preach from the Eagle Army Navy store here in town. He never went to college that we can tell or that I know of. He had to have some training, but with the Church of God, it's hard to tell.
At least I have my beliefs and I was raised with very strong beliefs and I know where I am going and whom I serve.
