Mom's lunch is the culprit. Raw egg has salmonella now, and is considered unsafe.

You can buy pasteurized raw eggs that are supposed to be ok.

which is what hot rice is for. when mixed together - the hot rice's hot enough to "cook" the raw egg. This has been traditional Korean food for many years. It can be eaten with any other food you like - spam, dried seaweed, meat, etc. etc.

I have been cooking this since before you were born!!

I swear it isn't hot enough! Pasteurized egg is the answer!
 
Jiro, my sympathies with your brash misfortune with food poisoning. I had case of it soooo bad when I was 18- I shall never forget (believed to be taco bell late the night before). I had isolated e-coli in my C&S tests. I was hospitalized for a few days it was so bad. BIG BIG NO NO for taco bell, not only have I not eaten there since, but do try to enigmatically expose their negligence through word of mouth for over 10 years. (I do not believe in litigation or lawsuit unless case of wrongful death- which it almost was) But if its wrongful death I won't be around to sue anybody! (Well that has been case as I have had to testify as expert witness in court in a couple of cases). I detest law in general and believe any half brained- half witted attourney can loophole any law to achieve settlement- ESPECIALLY in cases of medicine.

sorry to hear that. I went through food poisoning (dim sum - sp?? in chinatown) once back in 2002, so awful! feeling a little better now?? hugs!

good for her! at first I thought the name looked familiar and saw her on website, no, don't know her.

I know deaf people can do it - easily - when they WANT to do what they love to do.

water and snow is same you silly.

SORRY to say but I've bought that camera before for my cruise trip and itisacrap. video mode keeps freezing on me going under water, even above 10 feet. pictures weren't too bad but not for murky water or fast-moving fishes. maybe yours will be better?

I'll find out for myself, and see what the result turns out - but I am nowhere underwater anytime soon...:aw: but I hope to get good pictures from the snow, I also am sure will show some here on AD, when I get back.

Honestly, I never heard of anyone getting sick from eating raw eggs and hot rice though. Damn Japanese and Koreans... *mumbles* Kidding. I adopted that dish as my morning breakfast. No bad luck so far. :wave:

If I would say in U.S Dollars, I would say but I said it in default which is in AU dollars of course, and I needed a new camera before I go to the snowfields this is this coming friday! :| and I couln't be bothered to purchase overseas because it takes a while for it to arrive to my PO BOX.

maybe the rice wasn't hot enough. maybe she did it slightly wrong. it happens sometimes. I get diarrhea from egg rice once in a while.

Could have bought one when you got to the states cheaper and take it back with you.
