The round brackets were too small for my bars. Used the other ones with an existing screw on the fender mounting bracket.

It will take you longer to run the wires.

Last week, I went to Honda Motorcycle Dealership. I was riding my motorcycle over there and parked on "Motorcycle Only" parking. I went to end of lot where Honda, Kawaskai, and Yamaha parked. I wasn't sure if it's me or just the motorcycle, It looks smaller than my Susuzki?? Honda cruiser look so diminutive (I couldn't find its name except a dealership's "VStar" decal on tank but can tell it's Honda Shadow or other name) when I went over and I looked  Then I went in the dealership and look more motorcycles there. Honda Shadow, Kawasakai Vulcan and rest of Cruisers and Choppers looked small (everything including tires size too) to me as well :eek2: Except for Kawasakai Vulcan Venture 1800cc and Touring look just same or bit bigger than my bike. I sat on it and it's comfortable as my bike.

I sat on Yamaha Virago, it's cute little 250cc V-twin. It's like a big peewee "minibike" to me

Then I head out and look at my Susuki if my mind is playing trick on me about size. It looks big to me while Honda looked small. I don't want to pull my bike over just to compare its size. I'm chicken cuz I don't want dealer come out and screw me over.

Just wonder if you ever had experience like that.

Oohh crap!! I bet his butt/lower back hurts!! Glad he recorded video when accident happens so he can prove court that driver rear ended him is at fault.:eek2:
Catty

video or not, it wouldn't matter. any rear-end accident is usually automatically driver's fault (behind).

this is precisely why I stop at least 1-2 cars behind to put some gap between us and I idle at gear 1, check my mirror until there's a car fully stopped behind me. That way - if I see a car/truck coming in too hot... POOF! I'm outta there! I never liked it when there's a semi behind me. Chance is higher for truck than car that their brakes will fail :Ohno:

I also position my bike to far left/right of the car so that I don't get sandwiched.

many times in NYC at red light, I lane-split toward to front line if it's a couple cars behind. I don't trust New Yorkers.

Police got common sense about that. Happen to me before and police saw that and no question. Just give a ticket to other driver right away who hitted my Subaru's rear before.

Not really, Some idiot drivers drive in back up in the street. Happen to me. Driver was middle of cross at red light so he had to back up so quick to get off of cross road and end up hit to me even I was horn at him. So Lucky, bumper was not even scratch and no police need. Whew.

Smart, I will do same thing like you did.

Yeah, I never trust Chicago too.

like you said - police has common sense. they can check record if he's done it in past. plus - there may be witnesses around.

The record is full of bullshit. I had an accident like 10 times from Chicago even It was not my fault also witnesses were there and my old insurance was don't care and keeps raise. I drove around 320 miles a month from Chicago in old times. Now I live QC and no accident so far and I feel much better.

also - since California is pretty much the only state that allows lane-splitting... the way law works, it's usually motorcycle's fault by default unless proven otherwise (ie. helmet cam). That way - it's entirely your choice to lane-split at your own risk or not. Smart system.

 What if.................

your engine dies before you had chance to throttle up and snap clutch?? :eek2: Crasshhhhh!! :dizzy: J/K.

I agree with you.

I have habit of looking rear mirror for vehicle behind me. I give myself 7-12 ft gap so that would give me enough room to escape.

I've witnessed rear end accident couple years ago. It was really a drastic one but no damage done. I was idling at stoplight in my truck and I somehow looking around what's behind and around me through mirrors. For some reason, I was looking at guy and Harley motorcycle. He was on 2nd lane behind me that I can see very easily through mirror. Then the old man driving car behind him was creeping to stop. Thunk!! I saw guy head whiplashed a bit and looked back at him really :mad2:. He parked his motorcycle and walked to driver's side and was :pissed: at old man and pointing at motorcycle. Old man look at him guiltily :Ohno: . Guy threw his arm up and walked back to motorcycle.

There are Cruiser motorcycle with sissy bar that have 2nd brakelight behind sissy seat (top of sissy bar). Touring motorcycle commonly have 2nd brakelight on back of trunk.

I was thinking about adding one for my motorcycle because I have sissy bar seat.

Last night, I was riding motorcycle with my wife for pleasure. There were thunderstorm on the way and I thought I have about an hour of ride before storm hit. I rode 15 miles south to Stilwell, KS (south of Overland Park, KS). Which is a small town but lot of new business popping up. We were just visiting friend living there but he wasn't home. I looked around sky and seeing lightening flashing inside thundercloud and was very close . I told my wife that we better head back before it start to rain. So I rode on backroad heading back because wind was very strong on highway. I don't have issue with it cuz my motorcycle is heavy and steady against wind with no problem. My wife couldn't handle with helmet well on strong wind. So that's why. But when I drove by 103rd St and Antioch, My wife wanted me to stop by other friend's house close by. I turned around and head over and met up with friend at her home. My wife :blah: with her for 30 min and I was leery about storm because the cloud was hoovering over sky and seeing dark cloud a mile away :ugh: . Then finally friend told us that we better go now because it's gonna rain any minutes. So we headed out and I fired up motorcycle and my wife have helmet on then we rode on way home. When I was only 3 miles away from home and main road became Highway. It began to rain and I didn't have helmet on. As I was halfway, rain began to pour and motorcycle front wheel began to slip a bit :Ohno: while I was riding at 55mph. I immediately slowed down to 35mph cuz I was really leery :Ohno: ... Rain hit my face wasn't that bad at 55mph (it stings a bit) but when I was 1/4th way home, Pea sized hail began to fall!!! OOWW OOWWW THAT HURTS!!!! I slowed down to 30mph and finally turned corner slowly then on backroad to my home, I slowed to 15mph and finally arrived home. my lip and face was sore from hail!! :dizzy: It was funny tho and I had to tough out through hails.

I"m glad it's only Pea sized hail because when Storm moved to Missouri, there were Golf ball and Pingball sized hail fell. I would suffer bruises if Golf ball sized hail fell in my area. :eek2:

My wife asked me if I need to get 2nd helmet. I told her YES!! I need it so I won't suffer hail barrage at my face!!
