I have much experienced with drive the car but dunno about any difference with motorcycle.

My advice: Before getting on a motorcycle, know that they are dangerous for regular, able-bodied people. I would feel bad if I encouraged you to go ahead in spite of your RP situation.

That is stretching the truth quite a bit. True, trikes are bigger & wider than motorcycles, but, you still only have one headlight and you are still narrower than cars & trucks.

Foxrac: can you ride a bicycle through city traffic?

Trikes require a MC license, BUT, if you get a Can Am Spyder, you don't need a MC license. Our wonderful goverment says if there are two wheels up front but only one in the back, it is an automobile.

You can get an automatic transmission & power steering, and reverse gear with the Can Am as well.

Operating a trike in CA does not require a mc license. I'd venture to say that's also true for most states.

"Two-Wheel Motorcycles
A Class M motorcycle license allows an individual, 15 years of age or older, to operate any type of motorcycle, including: a two-wheel motorcycle, a motorcycle with a side car and a three-wheel motorcycle.


Two-Wheel Motorcycles with Side Cars

Effective November 2009, individuals who only want to operate a motorcycle with a side car permanently attached will need a special S3 restriction with their Class M motorcycle license. Operation of a two-wheel motorcycle without a side car attached is prohibited with this restriction. Please note that only SCDMV offices that offer commercial driver testing can administer a motorcycle skills test with a side car. For a list of office locations, click here.


Three-Wheel Motorcycles

Three-wheel motorcycles and automotive three-wheel vehicles may be operated with any class license except a Class G moped license. Special endorsements are no longer required to operate these types of vehicles."


This recently changed. Last year, trikes required a separate test and a special endorsement.

I am not sure about the Spyder but most conversions are HD and Honda. They go as fast as 2 wheelers. The first time we took a freeway (to Laughlin) trip, I wanted to test my trike for safety and stability so, on a safe, lonely stretch of freeway, I opened it up to 90 mph for 2-3 miles, was satisfied and went back to normal speeds. I could have gone a little faster but did not.

I did same thing when I muscle my motorcycle up to 90mph on safe highway for short time. I did 95mph for brief time cuz engine was vibrating a little crazy :lol: Tho it can do 100mph maximum but I didn't want to get caught by cop hiding behind signs :eek2: .

68 to 74mph maximum.

I think it had to do with limiter in engine.

Trike is better :giggle: Cuz depending on size of engine. If you happen to get Suzuki Boulevard C109 that have 1800cc engine as a trike, I bet it'll go over 150mph :eek2:
