A Motorcycle Thread About Absolutely Nothing!

Hi all: I have not be on the site for awhile. My company vehicle had a major meltdown. $854 in repairs. So this week I worked overtime to catch up.

As Reba mentioned, I am ready to take my BMRC again. The last time was 1974. While reviewing the forum for Hyosung motorcycle owners, I found a couple of interesting topics:

In S. Korea, speeding ticket costs are assessed by the engine cc's, not by the mph over the legal speed limit.

People who bought Hyosung bikes and wanted to register them in NJ were getting put off because the company was not registered in the state. Some people had been waiting more than 6 months.

And finally, my 650 "cruiser" goes from 0-60 in 4 seconds with a top speed of 130-140. :jaw: I won't be doing any of that! Reba will be watching over my shoulder.

Not bad! Subaru 2009 Sti 2800LB,AWD,and 0-60 in 4.7 seconds. :D

yike. $150. but it looks mighty comfy!
Yes, it's expensive. I'm going to check out ebay and some other sources.

But isn't my butt comfort worth $150? :giggle:

*look* it surely is. oops I hope TCS didn't hear that!

Have you looked into local store (I forgot the term for it) that can fix seat cushion? They can add in more cushion and "shape" it to your butt.

Reba, on the company's site, I was perusing a photo gallery of one of the "bikerfests" and there was this image of a booth selling this item for 99 bucks during the fest. Yeah, ebay or craigslist might be worth looking into.

Custom work is usually even more expensive.

The other good feature about the Butty Buddy is that it's removable, so when TCS is riding alone he doesn't need to have it on the seat.

price is always negotiable. it could cost $50. or $100.

Good news and bad news.

Good news: our leather vests arrived today, and we dropped them off to get the patches sewn on.

Bad news: my new leather boots also arrived but I can't get them on, so I'll have to send them back. :( It seems my instep is too high for slip-on boots, so I'll have to get some with a zipper or lace up. I don't know when I'll have boots. Sigh . . .

Good news: TCS got the last stand-by vacancy for the motorcycle safety course.

Bad news: The course is three days long, not one, so he had to cancel a lot of his work (meaning a loss of a lot of money). :(

It also means that we can't go on tomorrow afternoon's PGR funeral mission. :(

Aww, that's too bad, Reba about all the missed work. My class, too, was three days long about 6 yrs ago.

I did not read this whole thread...but are motorcycles allowed to weave through traffic?

you mean "lane-splitting". the answer is no. I got a ticket for it :mad2:

but it's legal in California

oh yea that's how MSF course is. 3 days. Brutally long.

If someone shows up even a few minutes late on any of the three days, the person gets kicked out of the class. That's how TCS got his place. Two guys (TCS and one other) were on standby. Two other scheduled guys showed up 15 minutes late, so the two standby guys took their places.

Did you take the class on your trike or another bike?

I didn't have the trike at the time. Had a Honda Shadow 1100 (wife's bike looked like mine, design, color and all but was a 600.) but we had to use the school's 250cc bikes. But even if I had the trike then, the training wouldn't have been necessary as the regular driver's license here suffices...and I don't think there are any classes for trikes, specifically, because if you already know how to shift, clutch, and brake, the learning curve for operating a trike is about an hour, lol.
