I believe the argument against oralism is relevant to the topic. Oralism is mostly projected as a 'cure' for deafness because it portrays the deaf person to be as 'normal' as possible to the hearing world. We are saying that it is not a 'cure' (no man-made contraption could ever be a cure, only an assistive device but not a cure.) Also, having the access to sign language means there is no need for a 'cure'. So all that has been discussed and debated here has indeed been relevant to the topic of the thread.
No one has argued that oralism (don't do it, Bott ) is a cure for deafness. There's no need for you to waste your efforts beating up your own strawman.
