Your description sound it´s temporary, not permanently? If your answer is yes then it´s not demotion and legal unless it prove by labor law that their business profit goes bad.... and acheive hardly to pay their employees/workers then employees/workers as "short-time employee/worker" will receive the money from unemployment benefit money from Unemployment Center automatic until the business profit goes well then...

It call demotion and legal if the employer change their employee/worker´s job description with different wage for reasons. They require the reason in writing first before they change their job description into different wage permanently, not temporary.

I know what I am saying because it affected my hubby, my friend and co-worker in the past. My friend & co-worker won at court against their employers.

1. They demoted my friend to low position due employee reduction. Few months later she found out that they hire someone to replace her which is not right demotion. She won at court and have her old position back and have to pay her what they owe her ...

2. My co-worker was told that his job position has to be cancel and transfered him to other job position with same payment grade. They "demoted" him and said that they reduce his payment because he is as a starter which is not right because it should be equal payment as his old position, not as a starter because he work for over 25 years, not as a "newbie". The court gave him right and receive equal payment. He received 2 year payment from his employer back.

3. My hubby almost file a lawsuit against his employer last December 2007. They asked my hubby to drop his lawsuit against them because they know what they did to my hubby is not right demotion accord labor law.





Yes, they can but employee/worker can protest against it if they feel it´s unfair. They need to prove why they think it´s unfair. They need to go lawyer who is specialist of labor law for advice first like what my hubby did. The company can prove against their employee/worker´s protest that their business is not good and force to reduce their employees/workers... or cancel job positions for other job position with different payment to aviod to suspend them etc. The employer know it would cost him/her high to pay their employees/workers sum lump if they suspend them.

Accord labor law, they can demote their employee/worker for real reason, not just that they can do what they want.

You can be fired or laid of without cause here.


And a demotion of Position or pay is totally legal.

As long as they do not go below the minimal wage

And a lay off would be just as legal.

if McCain was arrested or tried for a crime... boy you'd have no idea how many politicians (now prominent figures that will surprise you if you knew who) would be in same prison cell as him! :laugh2:

Not yet. He has been accused of riding on the jets of Bush, whom we all know beyond any doubt by now is a cokehead, drunk, and first criminal to be elected as President.

McCain hasn't been accused, arrested or tried for a crime, but he and Cindy's fortune have been linked to organized crime through Cindy's father, James Hensley. If you want to see news articles regarding this, just do a Google search for "McCain fortune + organized crime."

:lol: "RIF" is a piece of paper... :) "RIF" was being existed every 2 years since I first work at 23 years ago and stopped when Clinton was being elected as President of USA.

We know that we will have more soliders station here in Germany this year due Agfanistian. ;) There're no troops/civillian reduction more in army bases since Bush Admin. closed several US bases in Germany in the past. Now we need more troops and also civilians as well this year.

Yes, that's now; if Obama wins, he wants to reduce the military.

You can't have it both ways. If you want to keep your job you have to support the maintenance or even increase of military action. Obama is against those things.

But again, that wasn't my original question.

We were discussing doctors and how they might leave hospitals if health care became "socialized."

In August 2001, Bill Ayers himself said, "Guilty as hell, free as a bird—America is a great country."

He was accused, went on the run for 10 years, and by the time they caught him the authorities had to drop the charges on legal technicalities. Ayers never denied the things that he did, and he never repented of them.
