Im talking $300 a month and no one here, I left the furnace on to keep the chill off at like 50 degrees and only coming on the weekend to work on the house, when I got that $300 bill I started shutting it off when I left... now remember there were nothing but lights used here if it was dark, I would charge the batteries for tools at the other place.$300? Thats all for electric? I have seen $2,000 in just a month and I am not kidding. That owner was in shock after seeing that bill, didn't believe it was accurate, asked me to check out. True business, it is accurate as hell. She got 400 amp main service, split into two 200 amp services, one of them is dedicated to electric furnace, nothing else. The electric furnace has 48KW (48,000 watts) element in it, just an hour it registered 48 kilowatts, thats how fast it goes. She finally sold that house few years ago as I just found out.
AC is cheaper to run, My total bill for the summer months running lights, AC, cooking, tv/internet and all that barely scratched $300
The heating elements in the furnace suck up the electric.
