We get it. They killed someone and they deserve punishment and they WILL get punishment. Point is, they were 12 when that happened. Now they are 14, and they are still kids. It is very much clearly possible that they have some mental issues, but I don't think forcing them to be tried as adults would really work. Right now they should be in a mental facility where they get lots of help as possible.

I disagree with you above.

Those girls need to be in state hospital for much longer, possibly equal to, up to maximum sentence of attempted homicide charge, if they opt to be not guilty by insanity and they aren't safe to public anymore, also refusing to take treatment prove that they are unfit to be release to society, so they are belong to state hospital or prison whichever is satisfy to victim and their families, also safety to public as well.
