This girls know about which is right and wrong, also they chose to stop taking treatment for their mental illness, so they are responsible for their behavior.

I am sure you are qualified to make that diagnosis.... where did you get your degree from again doctor?
They were 12 year old girls... psychologically speaking they are not fully developed until they are around 18... there are reasoning sections of the brain that do not finish until even later than that... add on the fact that they were insane and bearly if at all medicated sure let the state throw them in the pin for life... while we are at it does the state have the death penalty maybe theyou can go for the needle as well...

No, I disagree with you and they should know that killing is wrong, also 12 years old is old enough to know that killing is no-no.

AND with severe mental illness. 12 year old girls with severe mental illness. Nobody is saying that it was "OK" for them to kill....just that they were so detached from reality they didn't know what they were doing!

I met some deaf people with severe mental illness, including schizophrenia, bipolar and many of them are nice and well treated (some of them are zombie as side effect from medicine), even they know about not ok to harm to themselves and others, but I encountered one incident about man with mentally ill want to beat us up, so they got scared from him, so he has lower IQ that cannot communicate at all. That why therapist and psychiatrist frequently questioned them about harm to themselves and others.

FYI, there are many inmates in prison with mental illness and they didn't qualify or win the insanity plea defense (it is extremely rare). I know why about state of Wisconsin and victim family wants those girls to be locked up, whichever is guilty on charge or guilty by insanity, so they could end up in prison or state hospital, depending on verdict, so juvenile charge will show nothing for them.

You sounds like saying that jails and prisons don't offer mental treatment programs. The jails and prisons are required by law or court order to offer mental health treatment to inmates, also correctional departments require to offer psych ward as well. There aren't matter about how effective is treatment as long as they meet the minimum requirement.

Those girls screwed it up so they are facing the consequence and I don't care about their condition, as long as they are keeping off the street, so they are under state custody now.

You will probably say differently if anyone with mentally ill kill or harm to one of your family member, so it is hard to deal with someone who has mental illness and refuse to take a treatment or all treatment doesn't work anymore.

Yes, you are correct, my state has separate secure unit for any criminals that isn't convicted or guilty by insanity, who are mentally ill and need to receive treatment.

I'm not interested to have a match with Jezie, but I just want her to understand about how people and I feel about anyone who are mentally ill and want to harm or kill others.

I don't hate Jezie, but it can be frustrating sometime, but I'm going respect her opinion after all.

It is very much clearly possible that they have some mental issues, but I don't think forcing them to be tried as adults would really work. Right now they should be in a mental facility where they get lots of help as possible.

Wisconsin is charging those girls with homicide attempt as adult so those girls can be confined in state hospital for many years, not until 18 under juvenile charge.
