I'm very disappointed at MS about no Directx 10 on XP, damn greedy Steve Ballmer, also few PC games (Halo 2) are released to Vista only, that piss gamers off if they are loyal to XP.

I believe that boycott MS products can be help, even don't buy PC for few month then MS will suffers from financial loss and would bring XP back to store or re-license to PC companies, it like happened to Coca Cola about New Coke in last 23 years ago, when related to beverage.

I seriously doubt Windows 7 will be released in 2009 or 2010. How many years did it take for Vista to be released after XP's initial release? It's going to be more bloatedware making it run much slower. Personally, I think Microsoft is better off 'open source' their Windows OS. Open source softwares tend to perform very well because developers focus on their talents to write good quality codes rather than do it for money. Microsoft still can make serious money with their 'support' services for 'open source' Windows.

Boycott Microsoft... good luck!

Same thing, C:\ for OS and programs only, D:\ videos, pictures, games and backup image file.

What is TI? Texas Instruments?

doubt? there's source, 3 years after Vista release if in 2010.

Vista sucks at overall, even other some issues aren't solve after SP1 and some others are solve.

Remember about 95 and 98, 98 was came out about 3 years later after 95, ME was 1 year before XP release.

TI = Acronis True Image. I also use M: for movie/TV files.. I fill up my M: drive up fast with tons of ripped DVD titles.
 
Nice, I plan to build the server/gamer computer with RAID 5 and create four parations. RAID 5 will be my first time. I already do with RAID 0 and RAID 1 before.

I use anydvd and shrink for Windows and MacTheRipper for OSX.

Bloatware in Vista alone (builders, Alienware, XPS) isn't right but for other PC companies that add to along with this OS then it's true.

There's no bloatware on Vista on my MacBook Pro because of clean install, only problem is hardware hogging and other bugs.

Open source for Windows? I wish MS would do it but don't think because of against their philosophy or they can change their mind, I'm support of open source for Windows.

Yup. Wish Windoz an opensource!

Bloatwares sucks! Not only from PC companies that threw in bloatwares. M$ also threw in bloated files too that u don't know of. There are plenty of JPG, BMP, and GIF files that are unrelated to. Try run search file on "*.bmp", "*.jpg", "*.gif" ect, you'll see additional pix that shoudlnt be there also some files too. I've deleted tons of them which are not related except for used for buttons, banner ect.. I've used XP lite to clean out craps from clean install xp on my old 500mhz Dell laptop. It ran heckva faster than my 1.8Ghz Turion laptop!!! I think I shulda done that on my lappy. But XP lite was just a trial version.
All those craps cleaned out of clean XP would mean smaller OS footprint, larger drivespace and faster pc.

right now I have Dell Inspiron B130 laptop. but I will consider to buy new DELL XPS series laptop with Vista Ultinate
when My old Dell Inspiron B130 will be delete files for security reason then I will send to Dell recycled.

Good luck with new PC.

I have Dell XPS with XP Professional SP2, I'm not feel ready for upgrade into Vista until MS fix on file transfer issue and other performance issue.

I already have full version of Vista Home Premium, I can install on my new PC with new partition and rid of Vista on my MacBook Pro.

I got updated Windows XP SP3 recently you need to check to update download Microsoft Windows Update


I recommend Vista Home Premium or Ultimate I does not like about Vista Home Basic -- XBOX360 will do support with Vista Home Premium and Ultimate

Ultimate is more security, professional, and much more features



Windows XP Service Pack 3 did recently updated for Home, Media Center Edition and Professional.

Windows XP is last update for SP3..

My friend have 2 desktop computer and one laptop -- one for desktop is Microsoft Windows Professional Service pack 3 and one for desktop and laptop have Microsoft Vista Ultimate Service Pack 1 is successfully work for networking

He have AT&T ( Bellsouth Fastaccess DSL) Westell modem with Linksys WRT300N router.

He have 2 desktop Themaltake tall computer case and 2 ASUS motherboards.

He did brought the computer parts and build it into computer case.

He have one laptop name is Dell XPS laptop.
also He have Sorenson VP100 VP.
Everything are fine
