Will a 911 call save you?

Sorry I didn't read all the posts, just the first few... if some of you already said what I'm going to say, then pardon me.

I was told that in 2004 there was one... I mean ONE police assigned to each 54 mile-radius in US (i think, maybe just Oklahoma). That would explain why there wasn't a quick rely or approach from the police within the call.

For those who own a gun as protection: I know there are fine-line within the Law in some states. In Oklahoma, you can't shoot unless they intend to "severely harm or use deadly force" on you in any way, then you can shoot in self-defense. However, on 2 condition- if you do shoot the person, you either shoot to kill with reasonable doubt, and if that person survives, that person can sue you no matter what reason you shoot them for (It applies in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, and Kansas laws). That goes for either trespassing on your property to saving a neighbor's life. There has to be a "proof" of bodily harm in order to shoot the bad guy. Of course, you'd still have to dial 911. The waiting time would be from 10 to 30 minutes. The call won't save your life, you'll have to save yours in order to defend yourself and your family among others just the time in between when the call was made to 911 and when police arrives at the scene. Like I said, some states' law varies.
