Why not Cochlear Transplants?!

That's true...

Honestly, I dont see anything wrong with kicking an old thread back to life. :dunno:

Yes it's only old to those that have been here forever. For some of us it is a new thread. Interesting subject and would be good if not for all the bickering about implant or transplant technical stuff. I would hope that most of us can get the idea of what is being offered? Would guess/hope that maybe someday they will find a way to repair/replace broken parts but until they do we live with what we have. Been a lot of progress made in hearing and sound and other parts of the body. More being made every day. Takes a while to filter down.

Rampratt: you are correct there has been much improvements in Hearing Aids-digital and Cochlear Implants over the last few years. Let's hope for more in the future! As pointed out above re Cochlea transplants-not exactly a pressing urgent need for what appears to be an " extremely difficult procedure". A study of history suggests we living today have much to be "thankful for" in dealing with various "hearing problems".

So far I have NOT started any threads just commented- this is deliberate by me- so far. I am a "new comer" since July/10.

I'm actually trying to help. There may be times whereas you'd just be better off to start a new thread rather than just reopening up old ones. Cause sometime when you do, some of the info in the thread could be a bit outdated by that point.

And also if you start some new ones rather than opening up some old ones, some whereas there hasn't been a post in it for almost a year, it won't give some an excuse to say to you "You shouldn't have opened up an old thread". If you get my point?

Most of us don't care. Nobody has to go back and read the outdated posts if they don't want to. There's been plenty of re-opened threads and very little complaining going on.

True words-alley cat. Cheers Bill

i don't care either... its when the poster has nothing to contribute to the thread then oepns it again... its like... ??

I guess if we are going to steer the convo from its original topic we may as well discuss nachos with cheese!:dunno:

I fully support the right of parents to choose nachos with or without cheese for their children as long as they have done their research and consider it in their child's best interests. Also, if you wait until the child is old enough to decide, the nachos will have become stale.

Science may have advance nutrition to the point where your child could live healthily, needing only nachos, if you only wait!

True and while there are many who have led healthy and nutritious lives without ever experiencing corn chips smothered in Velveeta, I have to question whether it is best to give him the opportunity to be exposed to such culinary delights or whether it is better for me to just devour the whole platter myself?

I think it's it's a pain in the *** when people across the room call the manager and insist that I'm disparaging them as individuals and destroying their culture as cheese-free nacho eaters because I've ordered nachos with cheese on the side so my child can dip in if she wants or eat nachos alone, or decide on a chip by chip basis. Sometimes the cheese is just too messy, especially if we're at the beach. Most of my family, however, favors cheese on a daily basis.

I do, of course, provide an initial tutoring session in the appropriate way to dip that dip for maximum flavor.

heh, some of you dont get the point.

But that's fine, I'm done wasting my energy here. You guys do whatever you want. I'll work on my projects.

Ouch, report button seems not work anymore.

Not cool.
