Why California?

that's good to hear, meg. It would be nice for Zesty to move to PNW since it's nice in summer and it's beautiful here, and lot of corporations here for her to find jobs or whatever. I think you and Zesty are good friends, so keep up with it. :D

Someone is letting someone slipping away.

Wow look at the dark cloud over Los Angeles, look so scary.
Remind me of the movie, "The Day after Tomorrow".

...But, if I was given a choice between facing a category 5 hurricane or a F-0 tornado, I'd face the hurricane. ..
I agree. I have lived in hurricane states (CT, FL, and now SC). Hurricanes are scary but at least we have time to prepare. Also, our houses in coastal SC don't have basements, so there are no good hiding places when tornadoes strike. When there is a tornado warning, the weatherman says lie down in a ditch. Ugh!

I don't like earthquakes either. No warning. So far, we just have small ones here (except 1886).

Yeh, California do have tornadoes. Even, Washington state too. In 2004, Washington state had 7 or 8 tornadoes, most of them are cold core funnel clouds or very weak tornadoes. Normally, we get about 1 or 2 every year on average. California have tornadoes in SF bay area, it's very rare though. It's mostly weak ones as well. :)

Why California...? Well, I was born and raised in California. I love the town where I live - in Northern California. It's not all about Disneyland nor Hollywood. Sure I've lived in the L.A. area for a few years but it's definitely not my cup of tea.

I have several family members living up in North Calif, they are beautiful place to live but too costly to live unless u live up in the backdoor of mountain with weird people.

Miss P, regarding the "tornado" in Calif that you mentioned.....that's not a tornado in the usual sense....its something called a water spout.
