Who likes to read books...

I like Stephen King, I read many of his books the latest is book #4 from The Dark Tower series. I have #5 and 6 but when will I read it I don't know..
and I am still waiting for #7 to be in paperback 'cos I like my books even and matching, lol... no hurry..

and I read Dean Koontz once something Servants of Twilight, it was OK,
I could read more of that :)

Has anybody ever read books by VC Andrews, I haven't but I remember seeying a movie based on The Flowers in The Attic- not quite a horror but oh so involving!!!

Also today as I was at the bookstore (briefly) and picked up a memoir of Amy Tan.

But I think I will post separate post about her..

I earned the nickname 'Bookworm' when I was in the elementary school. I am into mysteries/suspense. I just start looking for more of Robin Cook's books. I have way too many books as I tend to hit library used book sales. I gotta to finish read them all as I would need to get rid of maybe half of the books when I get ready to move out of state.
Agatha Christie, Anne Perry, Tony Hillerman, Michael Crichton, Sue Grafton, Patricia Cornwell, James Patterson, Clive Cussler, and Elizabeth Peters are my usual 'friends'.

I am so addict to books. I have read and collect them all: Stephen King, Dean Koontz, even V.C Andrews as well... Patricia Cornwell, Bentley Little, Jude Deveraux, Julie Gardwood, Sandra Brown (Both romantic and mystery), Karin Slaughter, Iris Johnsen, and many more...ohhhh, I have so many to name...I also collect history books and any books about writing of any kind.

I finally collect all Nicholas Sparks, even his memoir since I am out of books to collect and read :eek3: Still waiting for their latest novel to come out which it was always 'next year.' I just built a library a few years ago which I worship. I even buy so many books even though I didn't read them all yet, just 'cause I like saving it for my winter's blues...Best time to read when you have a writer's block. You just never know you will get strand in a winterstorm. You don't need TV or internet. Books are great to read to keep your imagation going. And to have hot chocolate with Iris creme in hand...

I am currently reading Nicholas Sparks' Guardian and will read his True Believer next. Now what next? Who knows...mmmm maybe Karin Slaughter's Beyond Reach and Cody McFadyen's The Face of Death (He is a new writer is very good). I just ordered those two books just recently through a book club. I never get enough of them, argh!!!! I must have chunk of cash with me every time I visit Barnes and Nobles. I love the feel of the book in my hand and keep my nose buried in a book away from the world....
 
I usually read art history and political books. I currently read Copperheads: The Rise and Fall of Lincoln's Opponents in the North, Black Majority, 33 questions about American History you're not supposed to ask, and A Different Mirror.
 
I'm not reading any books right now nor have I read any books since 1994. ;)
 
I'm one of the most compulsive bookworms that I know. I'm currently rereading Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. I think I have like about 1k books in my apt!

The last book I've read was Marquez "Hundred Years of Solitude".
It's so called magical realism, because it feel so real and yet it really is not, and this was very good book but a bit hard to keep up - to me.
But very very lyrical and spiritual. I liked it.

Now, I am reading very pleasant series about detective lady in Africa - Mma Ramotswe- very very warm, pleasant books!

I've read A Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. This guy is AWESOME and A Thousand Splendid Suns by him is on my to read list.

You're a mystery fan? My mother has 3 complete sets of Agatha Christie mysteries. I'm not kidding! I'm more of a SF fan.

I found Marquez a bit hard to follow, too. I read 100 Years of Solitude last summer. Other than textbooks and research that I have to read, I'm working on rereading Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand.

I have a collection of her essays if not the book Atlas Shrugged; I so dislike her "philosophy" that I think it's fit only for narcissists and sociopaths.

LOL! But she does make an interesting sociological statement. Don't agree with it either, but I find her thought processes interesting.
