There's really more than what is shown here; for example, there's cadvrs which is really under CSD but they have formed a union with CAD (California Association of the Deaf) for badly needed funds which I see as a great idea. Whether this will be real successful remains to be seen....

well it isn't on Wikipedia list.... cadvrs... hmm... interesting.

my vote says NONE!

im usually ip-relay

I used to use ip relay all the time despite having VP 100 cuz of problems with the video but since I got my VP 200, I have been using VRS more and more..so much easier than ip-realy and faster. I got 3 calls to insurance companies completed in like 45 mins as opposed to hours if I was using ip-relay.

One good thing about using ip-relay is that I can move to anywhere (if on my sk2) while being on a call while with VP, I must stay in one place so there are pros and cons to both.

None??? I thought you use Sorenson Service. You mentioned that's how your boyfriend found you on Sorenson directory? Hmmm

i have sorenson but i have little trouble dues connect of cables and nets that why!

but guys always found me on deafvp all the times than sorenson between no matter for me its my decision

Gee... I've only heard of 3 of those listed.

However, I don't use VRS.

You can always contact Sorenson support 24 hours even 24 hours today (4th of July).

Why do we have VRS and Relay and TTY?

That is like asking your mom to make call for you...

Is there some other way to contact people without using someone to
hear and talk for us?

Why not have a computer or robot phone... we can type in word...
and computer phone can speak for us and then the computer
phone hear what the callers said and relay the words, why
we didn't invent that?

Very interesting question.

You've got to have a very good human-ish speech synthesizer. Could take a lot of time to construct the algorithms... Plus, a sophisicated voice recognition technology.

What if people have bad spelling skills? How will that work?

lol, I rarely use VRS. I mostly use relay thru AT&T IP relay on the web. For VRS, I use Sorenson VRS.

VRS is awesome

I use VRS with VCO, which makes the call almost as good as a hearing-to-hearing call. Although I answered the poll that I use SorensonVRS, it's only because their videophone makes it easy to make the call. Their interpreter level of quality is a hit-or-miss proposition. On the other hand, when SorensVRS takes too long to answer my call, I tend to call HOVRS as backup because their interpreters tend to be the best qualified. CSDVRS's 800 number is wonderful for giving out to hearies who need my home number or need to call me at home, but their video quality is not that great, so I don't make calls through them.
